Much more than I expected

I just received and assembled it. Everything was accurately measured and the assembly was completed without major issues. I haven't made a proper set up yet and I will change the strings at some point, but overall I am really happy with how it turned out. One small issue was just that the G-string holder on the bridge was reversed but I just unscrewed it and screwed it back the other way around and that was fixed.

Why is it some much more expensive than the similar P and J kits?

Unlike other reviewers my kit went together well. The string and bridge alignment was fine. All other parts were present and installed Okay. I have two gripes. First, the nut width is about 42mm not the 38mm as specified. The neck was fatter then expected. A problem if you don't have large hands. Secondly, the strings are awful. I've bought dozens of sets of strings over the years but never had an issue with differing string volume outputs. The E and A strings were fine but the D and G strings had very weak output.

Great tone

Very easy to assemble. Great tone when good strings are put on.
The thickness and playability of the neck are excellent, perfect for me. The finish is matte and feels great in the hands. I converted it to a fretless guitar and it is great. The electronics and hardware are good enough to start with.

Habe das Bass Kit am 19.12.23 um 148 Euronen gekauft.
Keine gute Idee- der jetzige Preis ist immer noch überhöht. Leider.
Mit den anderen Bass Kits von HB ( Jazz, Precision) habe ich mehr Glück gehabt-bzw. Freude.
Bei dem MB Nachbau sind die Halstasche, Tonabnehmer und Regeleinheit massiv ungenau ausgefräst. Der Body, Hals Griffbrett und die Bünde jedoch annehmbar gearbeitet. Also habe ich die Fehler "nachbearbeitet" bzw. ausgebessert. Die Mühe hat sich gelohnt. Der Klang ist erstaunlich voll und knackig- natürlich nach Saitentausch ( galli strings flat wound 045-105). Mai un male senza un bene!
Ps: Die Sattelbreite ist 42,2 mm nicht 38mm ( laut Produktbeschreibung)vielleicht erklärt dies den Preisunterschied ;))
