M
Esattamente il pedale che cercavo
Mferrara 19.03.2022
Pedale ottimo per chi, come me, adora i suoni atmosferici.
Il case è solido, compatto e pratico, l'unica nota negativa è stata l'odissea per la ricezione del pacco, un problema col corriere che non fu affatto colpa di Thomann.
Pienamente soddisfatto del prodotto.

Versatile and pretty out-there too.

I have used this device with a 12-string guitar in a duo with an electric harpist. We make ethereal music that evokes space and cosmic vibes (man).
Detailed demos will show you the basics of what it can do. You will have to find out for yourself just how subtle the settings can be, as the results will be different for every instrument and musician. Basically, though, it's about loveliness and dwelling on dreamy sounds.
What we have here is a collection of good reverbs, some quirky variations on the reverb theme, and a widely adjustable shimmer that pretty much justifies the price on its own.
I have compared the quality of the basic reverbs and the shimmer with lo-fi units; it's in a different class altogether. Compared with the kit that we drool over: OK, there's amazing stuff out there, but in a real gig situation the Joyo will blow people's minds and they won't be wondering whether a £300 unit would have done it better.
From now on I'm going to be using mine on the "wet" output of a MEL9 and applying other devices on the guitar signal. That's until there's another change of mind...
For presets we would have to pay more. So write down your settings and take 10 seconds to set them! It's not hard.
Seriously, if you wish to explore the potential of reverb in your music, consider this amazing, delightfully affordable box of wonders.

This pedal is a nice versatile reverb pedal which even has a bit of use as subtle versions of other pedals like a flanger/phaser mixed in with a few of it's effects. I especially like that it has a good amount of control over the mix level (goes from full dry to full wet signal) and complete control over the modulation details, from effect strength to trail lengths and "speed" of the beats. When you have it dialed in nicely it sounds great.
It would be a 5/5 pedal for sure apart from one issue. It has pretty serious issue where a good portion of the settings aren't particularly useable as the effect strength becomes too strong and "feeds back" on it's self too much. The sweet spot seems to be at a slightly dry mix with a short trail and most of the tone and modulation dialed out, at least on my particular one. It does need a bit more for the shimmer setting to really work, but everything else has a very brittle and "feedback" sound to it.
All in all it's a good pedal and I'd still recommend it, however it might take some dialing in to get it where you want it.
