PYRAMID Maximum Performance E-Guitar pure nickel round wire strings are specially designed for vintage guitars. Using thinner core wires and stronger pure nickel round wound these strings have a slightly weaker tension. The result is a great feeling and perfectly balanced strings with remarkable tone and timbre. The single strings are refined at the ball with coloured artificial silk.

Great strings

These are a great set of strings by an underrated manufacturer. Having tried their flatwounds and been consistently impressed (I think they're the best flatwounds on the market today in fact), I mounted these roundwounds on my Fender Esquire. The sound is as crisp and sharp as I had been seeking, important when you have only one pickup to play with, and the string life is up there with the best of them. Highly recommended.

Mehr Wärme erwartet

Von den Pure Nickels habe ich mir der Beschreibung gemäß einen deutlich wärmeren Sound erwartet (auf Les Paul Custom Shop 60er).
Die Gitarre ist eher höhenlastig bzw. ziemlich brilliant und klingt mit Ernie Balls schon sehr nach meinem Geschmack. Aus Neugier habe ich die Pyramid ausprobiert, um vielleicht noch mehr warmen Vintage-Sound zu bekommen, habe aber eher stärker betonte Höhen bekommen (für andere Gitarren bestimmt super).
Eine merklich niedrigere Saitenspannung infolge des runden Kerns konnte ich nicht feststellen. Und länger als 5€-Saiten halten sie auch nicht wirklich.
Was mir allerdings sehr gefällt, sind die Stärken von 10-48. Gegenüber 10-46ern hat man da ein kleines bisschen mehr Futter unten herum, aber nicht zu viel - würde ich mir öfter wünschen.
