We are fascinated by beauty and quality of Lothar Semmlinger No. 134A Antiqued Cello 4/4. Cello has a wonderful, deep, beautiful and vibrant sound. My daughter Nataly who plays the cello, named the cello Brownie. They became best friends on the first look :-) Semmlingers family manufactured realy wonderfull cellos. Thank you.

Nachdem wir bei verschiedenen Cellobauern nicht recht fündig wurden, sind wir auf dieses Instrument aufmerksam geworden. Nach genauerer Recherche über die Familie Semmlinger und einigen sehr netten Telefonaten haben wir uns schließlich entschieden, das Cello doch mal in Augenschein zu nehmen. Nicht zuletzt die 30 Tage Rückgabegarantie hat uns dann doch über das leicht mulmige Gefühl eines teuren „Blindkaufs“ (naja, eigentlich „Taubkaufs“ noch dazu als Versand hinweggeholfen.
Und - was soll ich sagen - unsere Erwartungen wurden bei weitem übertroffen. Das 134A hat wirklich die wunderschöne Optik wie auf den Fotos. Vor allem aber seine kräftige, satte Klangentfaltung hat etliche andere zur Auswahl stehende (teils 1/3 teurere!) Celli vom Geigenbauer absolut in den Schatten gestellt. Nicht nur wir, sondern auch unsere Cello-Lehrkraft waren vom ersten Ton an hellauf begeistert und sind es noch.
Fazit: Phänomenales Instrument zu einem hervorragenden Preis mit wunderschöner Optik. Was will man mehr?

Après avoir testé une dizaine de violoncelles chez les luthiers de Rennes et Nantes, je n'ai pas trouvé l'instrument qui me convient (sauf un violoncelle ancien à plus de 10000 euros : hors budget) Tous avaient des défauts dont le plus courant concerne la corde D qui deviens terne en 4éme position.
Le Lothar Semmlinger N° 134A tel que je l'ai reçu n'a pas de défaut majeur : il sonne bien sur tout le manche, sans note de loup ni autre coquetterie insuportable, les basses sont riches et profondes.
A l'ouverture du carton (très bien protégé), j'ai trouvé la couleur un peu sombre par rapport aux photos du site, mais c'est quand même un très bel instrument, pas tape à l'oeil, avec juste ce qu'il faut de vernis pour protéger le bois sans nuire à la sonorité.
Je trouvais les cordes beaucoup trop hautes par rapport à la touche, de plus je n'aime pas les spirocores montées (son trop métallique sur le G) et je trouvais la corde de D un petit peu terne et en retrait par rapport aux autres cordes. Changement des cordes pour des Larsen Il Cannone W&B sur C et G et Il Cannone D&F sur D et A et un petit passage chez le luthier pour régler la hauteur des cordes et nous avons un instrument qui sonne merveilleusement bien et va encore se bonnifier avec l'âge.
