Uso le DR Sunbeam 45-105 da oltre 12 anni dopo aver provato quasi tutte le marche, scalature, materiali. Alla fine le ho sposate. Se ti piace la corda nervosa, con un suono brillante, se sei uno slappatore o un maniaco del plettro... ecco, queste corde non fanno per te. Se invece vuoi una corda morbida, con una tensione ridotta, che restituisca un suono senza interferenze con i tasti anche con action molto ridotta, che con il tempo acquisisca un suono vintage, ideale per suonare soul e funk '70 o Motown... Ecco, hai trovato la corda giusta.

Good strings but not my favourite.

DR makes good strings but I've never really liked their stainless steel offerings. They're far too scooped sounding for me.

So I figured I would try one of their nickel plated steel varieties. They're certainly not scooped! If anything they've got too much mids for my taste. They have this honky thing going in the mids that I'm not really a big fan of. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad strings. It's just that I could list at least 10 other nickel roundwounds I like far better so I don't see the point of buying the Sunbeams again. It was worth a try but they're not for me.

DR Sunbeams are easily one of the most musical bass string sets I’ve tried.

Tuning stability is solid, and overall build quality feels reliable. They may lose a bit of brightness over time, but the core tone remains very usable.
If you’re into a natural, vintage-inspired sound with modern playability — these are a great pick.
