Highly underrated 606 style drum machine

This drum machine has great midi implementation and the digital features (auto variation, fills, pattern merging, kit saving, song mode, timbre selection, pattern colors,...) go very deep. Most sounds have several timbre options which makes this a very versatile piece of kit.

The build quality is acceptable. It's not a Moog and it doesn't have to be. Knobs feel good for tweaking and the switches are responsive. Led buttons are great.

The sounds are 90% there - while they do sound great, they are not completely the same as on the TR-606. The kick delay is a little more boomy and the hats have the 606 flavor for sure, but the Roland TR-06 is closer, sound wise.

This is a great analog drum machine with a lot of performance oriented features and it's a great alternative to the drumbrute impact, volca drum, and roland boutiques.

For me personally cyclone did a lot of things right with this one. It is very direct and hands-on and gives you plenty of extra's when comparing to an original 606 or other clones. Soundwise: it's a 606 so I think it is love it or hate in for most of us. The bass drum is not very impressive (I mean it's a 606...) but thanks to the individual outs for each instrument it allows for some extra processing afterwards. Don't expect fancy sequencing tricks like probability, but there is fun stuff under the hood to get some cool grooves going with the flam, roll and accents. Considering the a travel bag and hard case cover come with it, this is a solid buy.

This is a very well marketed product. Only drawback I noticed was some crosstalk on the individual outs.

Es gibt ja mittlerweile verschiedene Clones der TR-606 von Roland. Ich war bereits Besitzer einer Originalen und einer Acidlab Drumatix. Alle befinden sich im selben Preissegment. Ich finde die Drum Drone ist mit Abstand die Beste. Klanglich leider nicht so schmutzig wie die Originale oder die Acidlab aber dafür deutlich detaillierter and rauschärmer. An Funktionen wurde alles ergänzt was (mir) bei den anderen Maschinen fehlte (Clap Decay, HiHat Tune...). Ach die Funktionen Mute und Roll sind sehr praktisch. Das Gerät ist besser verarbeitet als sich auf den Bildern erkennen lässt aber lange nicht so gut wie die Acidlab. Alles in Allem lädt die TT 606 zum spontanen Jammen ein und war seid dem Kauf bei jedem Live-Auftritt dabei. Wer auf den metallischen, düster angehauchten, analogen Klang einer TR 606 steht wird nicht enttäuscht.
