A parte un difetto, impressionante!

Premessa: Avendo l'orecchio assoluto, mi affascinava l'idea di poter sperimentare con accordature al dì sotto del Sol basso. Quindi presi questo set per passare da G standard a Drop F, fino al famigerato e temuto Drop E.

Chiaramente sul mio 5 corde scala 35", ho dpvuto fare qualche "scavo" per adattare un passaggio del ponte e il capotasto. Tutte le corde suonano mastodontiche e definite, con un'enorme presenza di medie e alte a loro volta. Tranne però per la corda più grave, che suona quasi come in un palm-mute perenne, risultando con delle alte non dico strozzate, ma più come "interrotte". Devo ancora vedere se è un problema legato al ponte o al capotasto, ma per il momento è un risultato ok e che con certe corde può anche starci.

Got these after searching and realising no other brand carries gauges this thick. Tuning down to G och F# on a lon scale bass (34-35") bass makes for a mess with a .135-string, but with these babies you're home! After adjusting the nut (widening, don't make the groves more shallow!) and the bridge on an Ibanez SR I could only be amazed at the clarity of wich the lowest notes rang. Add to that great sustain, and after punishing them for months they still haver a lot of string sound left in them, so they seem very durable if you only wipe them down the finished playing. The lowest one we're however a pain getting all stretched out (same for several pairs) and getting it to stay in tune, a lot of elasticity in that one. Given that they are (as far as I was able to deduce) the only ones available in this gauge, the price is fair I suppose, but an alternative would be interesting to try, but untill then, these babies rock!

the thickest gauge of strings you can buy in a noncustom set. they deliver!! i like the feel of the strings also the tension tuned up to F# suits me wel
