Bought this for the venue I work in.
We have a government spl limit to adhere to and it can be fun trying to get touring engineers to comply, so I bought this since it had a nice large display so they can't miss it.
The construction of the unit is great. So far it looks like it should hold up well. Up close, sometimes the display can come across as slightly blurred, but from about 6 feet away it clears up nicely.
My main gripes with the unit are:
-The software is a little too basic.
- Doesn't always keep the setting saved from the software after rebooting the meter, resulting in having to reconnect to a laptop and putting in your previous calibrations.
- The software really needs to have a way to slow down the metering response. Example: Kick drum, compressed, and pretty steadily hit. My old calibrated meter would read 112dBC, and this will meter between 104dBC - 119dBC based on transients. A slower response time would make this unit far more accurate and definitely worth the price then.
Currently looking to find an alternative to this though since I can't really trust it with guest engineers and having to explain how it meters when I am still trying to figure out how to read it accurately myself.
Would be fine for smaller lower spl situations, or could be fine in A weighting, but I haven't tested that for accuracy.

3 days ago I received a DMS-V1 from Thomann and the microphone is defective, yesterday it worked fine, in the evening also, but at midnight was not measuring, I tried another microphone and it works normally, but the microphone that came with the db meter does not pick up a signal.

Besonders gut am DMS-V1 ist die mechanische Wertigkeit. Es fühlt sich nicht nach einem Billigprodukt an und ist massiv. Das Messmikrofon hat ein Metallgehäuse und scheint nicht so leicht zu beschädigen. Die Montage des Meters ist sehr leicht durch den abnehmbaren Rahmen, welchen man vorgängig mit Schrauben befestigen kann. Und auch das Mikrofon lässt sich dank zwei Langlöchern leicht am gewünschten Ort montieren. Hier wird im gesamten eine Top-Lösung präsentiert und es gibt es fast nichts zu meckern. Einzig das Ablesen des Displays aus spitzem Winkel gestaltet sich teilweise als schwierig.
Bei der Software hingegen wären ein paar Features mehr nicht verkehrt. Vor allem bei der Einstellung der Integrationszeit wären längere Zeiten von Vorteil. Das Meter springt sehr oft zwischen Werten hin und her und so lässt sich schlecht ein Durchschnittswert ablesen. Klar erwartet man hier keine Leq60 Messungen, aber eine breitere Auswahl an Zeitenstellungen würde helfen. Ich denke softwaretechnische sollten diese Erweiterungen durchaus möglich sein.
Ansonsten bin ich zufrieden mit dem Soundmeter. Es hängt seit 5 Monaten bei mir im Studio und tut seinen Dienst.

Pour sa gamme de prix le produit est tout à fait recommandable.
Pour la fiabilité :
Cependant au bout de 5 mois d'utilisation, le sonomètre a des variation de 10 DB(C) au repos ainsi que des faux contact à fort niveau de pressions acoustique (sonomètre affiche un message d'erreur (E1) aléatoirement au dessus d 90 DB(C)).
J'attend une réponse du service clients pour pouvoir bénéficier de la garantie.
