Definetly love this preamp when it works completely clean, very wide resolution and response, specially in the low-mid range, cool silk txt sound for a fresh and bright response, 2 outputs behind at 0 and -6 very appreciated.

Super pre

Cercavo un pre col carattere Neve ma dal suono pulito e più moderno rispetto ad un 1073 per il mio U87ai e per lo Sphere L22 (che è un mic stereo). Lo consiglio a chiunque voglia un pre hardware con la possibilità di essere sia clean che piacevolmente saturato sulle medioalte grazie alla funzione silk.

Big wide sounding preamps with very little added hiss and uncanny headroom.

The silk (red ftw) is almost always on here, you just adjust the desired amount of saturation and off you go. It's possible to increase saturation by raising the gain levels and lowering the output fader.

The high pass filter is also incredibly clean and useful, this unit sounds so good that running loopback stereo Tracks through it, filtering and saturating a bit almost always brings the mids forward and adds a bit of sparkle to the source. Definitely suitable for the master buss on occasion.

The preamp seems to work magic with slower microphones, but may not be the best option for transformer-less units. Very useful unit altogether, especially if you're looking for something that can sound clean and modern too.

Once you try it, you will never go back. The quality is exceptional. I use it strictly for acoustic instruments(acoustic guitar/classical, especially violin). Paired with a good microphone, in my case Neumann KM 184 stereo set, and having a decent space to record, I won't need anything ever. This is a tool that will last you a lifetime and is worth every penny.
