I've not really used it but it seems to be a nicely made bit of kit. I get the principle but I fail to see the value in using it really. I just fit my reeds to where I need them and blow them in. If the lay curves on your mouthpiece rails are off then there's not much you can do about that really other than to buy a new one or try to find someone who can work on you mouthpiece at great expense.

Just that - it helps with identifying where a reed needs work. Expensive enough for what it is but if you're going to spend €80 on a Black Diamond Reed Geek it's probably worth shelling out another €20 on this.

Von dem ReedGeek "Black Diamond" bin ich ja aufgrund seiner einfachen und schnellen Handhabung wirklich begeistert, daher hab ich mir in der Hoffnung, gezielter an die Blattbearbeitung herangehen zu können, auch Plaque & Gauge zugelegt. Nun, das hätte ich mir sparen können. Zumindest bei eher kleinen Blättern für Klarinette oder Sopransax ist die zusätzliche Information gering - der Nutzen steht für mich in keinem Verhältnis zum Zeitaufwand.
Wer die Zeit investieren will, und sei es nur, um den Zusammenhang zwischen den Details der Blattform und den Spieleigenschaften besser zu verstehen, der findet hier aber ein preiswertes, qualitativ einwandfreies Ergänzungsset.
