I bought an utar as my first udu, because I had a feeling it would be easier to transfer from cajón. At the end it didn't really sound good. If you want an LP udu, i would suggest buying claytone #4, which I did afterwards and still enjoy playing it!

You can get different sounds depending on where you hit, like other Udus. Recently I slipped on the ice and dropped my Utar so the neck broke, I bought a new one instantly. Highly recommended drum!
