Legere Signature Baritone Sax 2.75

As a professional, over the years, I have regularly tried plastic reeds, but I never could bring myself to play them for more than two days. But with the Signature reeds it finally works for me. Warning: I use them for contra alto clarinet (and a tenor reed for bass clarinet) instead of for saxophone. But they feel great. On bass clarinet, the sound is 95% of a good reed, let's say. Not 100% of a good reed, BUT certainly better than many, many bad reeds! So, at least for practicing and rehearsals, they seem ideal to me. For a concert, I take out the traditional canes, but anyway, it is reassuring to me that I have at least something that is totally acceptable.

The biggest advantage is the stability of the reed. Put it on, and play ! As siple as that. Depending on the type of mouthpiece there can be a little difference in sound.
So, the day you accidently would break your reed, and you really quickly need a good one, you will be happy to have this.

Die Blätter von Legere sind schon lang in der Mitte der Saxophonwelt angekommen und zählen zu den besten unter den Herstellern von Kunststoffblättern - völlig zu Recht, meiner bescheidenen Meinung nach.
Gerade die Signatureserie kommt dem Klang eines Holzblattes recht nahe. Ein richtig gutes Holzblatt klingt immer noch natürlicher und besser ... Aber man muss gefühlt erst mal 25 Blätter aussortieren bis man das gute gefunden hat ... Das Legere ist also z.B. ein guter Kandidat für Wenigspieler, die nicht erst mal 2 Schachteln Blätter einspielen wollen.
Weitere Anwendungsbereiche sind für mich Gigs mit mehreren Instrumenten oder als Lehrer der Saxophonunterricht, wenn das Instrument mal ein paar Minuten nicht gespielt wird. Das Legere muss nicht vor dem Spielen nass gemacht werden, sondern legt auch bei Kaltstart gut los.
Den Sound würde ich als relativ neutral bezeichnen - in erster Linie ist hier natürlich der Spieler gefragt. Auf jeden Fall kann es sowohl in klassischen wie auch in Jazz/Pop/Rock Settings eingesetzt werden.
Der Preis ist natürlich deutlich höher als bei einem Holzblatt, dafür hält es bei guter Pflege um ein Vielfaches länger - Also gut aufpassen, dann bekommt man ein gutes Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis.
Fazit: Ein gutes Blatt, dass mit einem durchschnittlichen Holzblatt durchaus mithalten kann und bei guter Pflege lange Freude bereitet.
