I thought that 200 Rock Licks referred to 200 famous rock licks which I was looking forward to hearing - mostly to point me in the direction of bands I hadn't heard before. What you get is 200 original licks, more metal than rock, from three guitarists. All of the licks I watched were ridiculously fast, modern-style, and not the classic rock licks I was expecting.

I must add that nowhere on the box does it say that it contains classic rock licks from songs we all know - the mistake was mine, but it could be a little clearer.

The guitarists can obviously knock out their own riffs at lightning speed but when one of them has a 9-string guitar and explains that he is only using the top strings so a six-string guitar would suffice; the message is clear - We so big... you so small...

Skill-booster mit falscher Bezeichnung!

+ hohes spielerisches niveau
+ echt gut klingende licks

- normal ist sackschnell, und "slow" ist teilweise auch relativ schnell
- unnötiges reinlabern von "and now we are gonna play slow" jedesmal.
-quali ist so lala

Die Kompetenz der werten Tutoren ist immens gut (obwohl der letzte von den Dreien ab und zu unsauber spielt im Gegensatz zu den zwei anderen Raketen!)
Jedoch ist die Bezeichnung "Rock Licks" gerade mit dem Bild Gibson und den P-90 Pickups eher gefehlt. Es geht zu über 50% in die Metal Richtung. Vieles davon kann man auch auf Rock übertragen, aber dennoch falsche Bezeichnung.
Das Niveau ist teils sehr hoch, aber hey: Nur so entwickelt man sich!

Très bon DVD, très bien expliqué, mais le niveau monte très très vite, ce DVD est donc à réserver aux guitaristes intermédiaires et experts qui veulent approfondir leur connaissances des licks de Rock / Hard rock
