Trasparent low gain overdrive

Se siete amanti del trasparent low gain overdrive questo è uno dei top tre. Gli altri due sono il Lightspeed della Greer Amps e l'altrettanto mitico Broadcast. Qual'è il migliore? Sono tutti diversi e tutti diversamente apprezzabili. Il Lightspeed ha dalla sua dei meravigliosi overtones immediatamente percepibili. Il Broadcast è il più diverso e il suo low cut lo caratterizza enormemente. Il Barbershop ha invece dalla sua il SAG, che rende unico anche questo pedale. Mi piace molto anche esteticamente, che non guasta. La Fairfield Circuitry lavora davvero bene - in Canada

Best bass overdrive ever!

Natural, transparant and touch sensitive. Retains all low end too. Makes my solid state amps sound great and my tube amps amazing. Don’t expect loads of gain. Really kills the ‘on the edge of breakup’ thing. Can’t seem to turn this one off ever.

Very special design, not just an overdrive exactly

This is a difficult pedal to put into a neat category. It has three knobs and a bit of tone control, but its very versatile and more like a utility than just a sound you can use when you want it. It affects "behaviour" as much as "sound". What I mean is, that Sag control does a lot of things for you. The reactivity of whatever topologies come after it becomes a living thing. Even a dull predictable sound you are used to gains a playable reactivity. Its subtle, but anything more and it wouldn't be as useful.

The drive tonality itself is very truthful and earthy and musical. The sweep of the pots is sane, sensible, trustworthy and no-BS. It works fantastic as an always on gain, a boost gain, a texture. Its especially shined for me on tube amps and simulations and before characterful tone-shaper pedals like a TS9 or Klon.

Super dynamic and responsive

This pedal is great. The SAG control is fantastic for getting that amp-on-the-edge feel, and it reacts like crazy to input level changes—especially with a boost. Super versatile, from tight drive to a crumbling, dying amp sound.
