This pig does not fly, for me.

So, as a eurorack/modular-beginner with tight space in the rack I bought thinking it would be smart. And it was, from a space point of view. It is very small.

However it doesn't track as many octaves as I would like, hence the low overall rating. It's also too thin sounding for my taste. I do like the quality of it for being such a small device. So if space is at a premium it's still worth having.

The sounds it does put out are nice as such. But for the money spent I would look at something else really, unless space is an issue.

Also worth noting with Pico modules. Since they all are 3HP, besure to buy then min pairs to keep even numbers or you will end up with uneven holes in your rig, that you can't fill.

Very beautiful digital oscillator

I use it for it's stable tuning. But it also has very beautiful sounding waveforms which you can also cv morph them!

After 4 years the module still works well, it's solid, has plenty of waveforms with morphing in between, it's easy to use.

Gut und günstig

Ich nutze den Pico Vco beim Produzieren von Techno in Kombination mit einem Wavefolder und Lowpass Filter.
Die enthaltenen Wellenformen klingen gut und sind sehr vielseitig, aus einigen kann man sogar brauchbare Percussion und Kickdrum Sounds bauen. Direkt aus dem Modul ohne weitere Bearbeitung sind die meisten Wellenformen meiner Einschätzung nach relativ brav, sie eignen sich eher für cleane Melodien als zb fiese Basslines. In Kombination mit einem Wavefolder oder Verzerrung sieht das dann aber anders aus.
Die Funktion per Cv unterschiedliche Wellenformen auszuwählen ist praktisch, ebenso die Möglichkeit den Pico Vco als Lfo zu benutzen.
Ein Manko ist, das durch den kleinen Drehregler das Stimmen etwas schwierig ist, mit Geduld und Feingefühl bekommt man das aber schon hin.
Alles in allem würde ich den Pico Vco weiterempfehlen, man bekommt für einen kleinen Preis auf geringem Platz relativ viel - Eine gute Ergänzung im Rack.
