This is a great guitar but for some reason I just couldn't love it. The switching all works well but is unusual and I wasn't a fan.
The design and colour of the guitar are great but I just wasn't in love with it, the neck was nice to play, I love slim taper necks and this one felt great in this SG player's hand.
Overall I liked this guitar but didn't love it, I'm sure others will though.

Unusual but very playable

The neck on this guitar feels great, its very playable, wide and quite chunky. A small body really helps on a small stage or with weight. Maybe in line for a pup upgrade at some point, but I like it. The 5 way switch has a non standard setup i.e. bridge position is actually split coil, and next position (4?) is full humbucker.
I don't think it's the best looking guitar, but it plays well and is staying with me :)

This is a newer version of the Epi Nighthawk dating from the 90's? First off you get a nice case with the guitar, a plus in my opinion. Pickup selector is a 5 blade switch. that taps the humbuckers, so a variety of sounds are there for you. I like the ebony fretboard very smooth to play. Lighter than a les paul style with stomach cut makes for a less tiring playing session. Detractions? Although the bridge pickup is angled and the strings go through the body you will not get a true tele bridge sound, but its close. Is this an attempt to produce a guitar to get both Les Paul and Tele sounds? Not really; its best thought of for what it is, a Fanatic version of the nighthawk, it succeeds in this. A quality guitar that gives sounds for many styles of music, it wont be around in stock for long.

Die Epiphone Nancy Wilson Fanatic Fireburst kam im Koffer perfekt eingestellt bei mir zu Hause an. Obwohl sie vom Body kleiner ist als eine Les Paul bringt sie ordentlich Gewicht auf die Waage, was mir sehr entgegenkommt, da ich von den ganzen Weight relief Sachen nicht allzuviel halte, schließlich gehört ja auch das Gewicht zum Konzept einer Gitarre und ist eine wesentliche Eigenschaft derselben. Die Verarbeitung ist makellos, die Lackierung ebenso. Trocken gespielt erahnt man schon das Potential der Gitarre, diesen Eindruck erfüllt sie wenn sie angeschlossen ist. Die Humbucker machen genau was sie sollen: Rock ´n roll, sei es beim Rythmusspiel oder beim Solospiel. Die Soli machen unglaublich Spaß, die Gitarre singt regelrecht und hat ein sehr gutes Sustain. Mit dieser Gitarre kann man es auch als Mann ordentlich krachen lassen. Hier hat Nancy Wilson scheinbar viel einbringen können an Ideen und Wünschen, denn optisch wie auch spieltechnisch und klanglich ist diese Gitarre wirklich ein perfektes Arbeitsgerät und muss sich nicht verstecken neben Marken wie Gibson, Fender oder Gretsch. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist schon wirklich günstig, die Gitarre kommt mit Koffer, welcher die Gitarre gut schützt. Sie ist aufgrund ihrerHandlichkeit und ihres unglaublichen Sounds zur Zeit meine Hauptarbeitsgitarre, obwohl ich diverse auch preislich wesentlich teurere Instrumente besitze. Alles in Allem war das ein absolut gelungener und lohnenswerter Kauf. Dank auch an die Mitarbeiter/innen bei Thomann, Bestellung und Lieferung waren wie immer komplikationslos und schnell.
