Engl Savage 120 E-610 MKII

Every channel in this amp is perfect! Crystal chimey cleans can be found in the clean channel and can even be driven to the edge of breakup while still retaining the clarity and 3-d feel of the channel. The rest of the channels are different stages of gain and saturation until you arrive at the lead channel. This channel is amazing at providing a thick, rich, syrupy, harmonic saturation and fluid feel while still retaining clarity and note separation of all the other channels. This is something i have never thought possible. The low end is MASSIVE without every losing definition or getting flubby. It's like a MASSIVE tight and fast punch to the gut..... even with no overdrive!!! For high speed thrashy metal you don't need to look any further!
The plethora of features and tone controls on this amp made me store all my effects pedals back in the closet because everything i need is already on the amp! but even if you love footswitches the amp is a midi powerhouse with 2 effects loops so it can function as the center of any rig.
This amp screams German Build quality. I only took off a point on quality because the knob on the rear of the amp for the noise gate fell off.

This is my first tube amp and I am so happy with it! I have only had a few days with it so far and it is shocking how versatile and amazing sounding it is. the only downside is if you want to use this thing to its full potential in a live scenario a midi controller is kind of essential as all the push button features on the amp can't be saved to the amp itself. Other than that this amp is near perfect and I am just blown away from the sound I am getting out of it.

J'ai attendu de l'utiliser 4 mois avant de donner un avis sur cette tête.
ENGL est réputé pour ses sons "métal". Cependant cette tête possède 4 canaux, les sons Crunch son supers même le canal clean est plutôt sympa. Je l'utilise avec un OD "Tube Screamer" (pas plus de 5% de drive) le résultat est génial. Pour le moment je n'ai qu'une pédale delay (Carbon Copy) dans la boucle d'effet (il y a 2 boucles commutables en façade). Et je n'utilise pas de commande midi pour l'instant.
Je sors le tout sur un atténuateur "Torpedo" en 16 ohms pour attaquer des enceintes amplifiées. (2 * 15 pouces). Mais je viens tout juste de commander une enceinte "ORANGE" (4 * 12 Vintage 30 en 16 ohms que je vais recevoir semaine prochaine) car ça prend moins de place et le son sera plus naturel, je ferais des essais avec l'atténuateur.
J'ai possédé un ampli Marshall JCM 2000 avec un 4 * 12 (1960) il y a pas mal de temps puis je l'ai abandonné pour un effet numérique plus simple d'utilisation (interface PC ...) de chez LINE 6, comme il est tombé en panne j'ai voulu me remettre à l'ampli à lampe. J'ai choisi cet ampli ENGL car il possède 4 canaux et ses fonctions : Noise gate, Contour Boost…' Je ne regrette pas ce choix, c'est pas la même chose que du numérique (Attention je n'ai pas essayé l'axe FX !!!)
Je n'ai mis que 3 étoiles pour la qualité de fabrication, explication :
J'ai reçu une première tête avec une lampe de puissance défectueuse, je ne sais pas si c'est réellement un problème de fabrication chez ENGL ou de fragilité de la lampe, peu importe je tiens à souligner l'efficacité du Service Après-Vente de THOMANN, J'ai renvoyé la tête et ils m'en ont renvoyé une autre dans un délai très rapide.
Conclusion je recommande cette tète d'ampli qui est plutôt très polyvalente avec ses 4 canaux, attention si vous avez le dos fragile, elle pèse 24 Kg !

Der Engl Savage 120 MKII ist ein Wahnsinnsteil, der voll flexibel aber einfach amtlich tight, straff und ja böse klingt... er kann aber auch sehr sauber clean, rockig die guten ACDC-Sounds raushauen und wird richtig brutal für Metal und alle Spielarten...
Ich habe die Möglichkeit den Amp 1:1 mit dem Marshall JVM410H zu vergleichen, wobei vergleichen hinkt hier...die ganze Soundarchitektur des Engl ist, basiert auf der Röhrenauswahl ganz klar eine andere Schublade als Marshall, aber....auch das bekommt er sauber hin.
Clean ist erwartungsgemäss kein Fender-Shimmer-Sound drin, aber für das Stammklientel mit leichtem Chorus und Reverb haut er genau die soften Liedanfänge raus, die dann von satten, fetten Riffs und klar separierten Powerchords abgelöst werden...der Hammer hängt verdammt hoch. Wenn man sich dann mit dem Lead-Kanal in absolut drückendem, saftigen und obertonreichen Lines ergeht...dann kommt ein bisschen Suchtfaktor durch.... muss man als Gitarrist*in ausprobiert und gehört haben.
Die Macher von Engl haben da , meiner Meinung nach, was ganz großes aufgestellt, ich kenne den Vorgänger nicht, bin mir aber sicher dass diese Basis schon perfekt war.
Das gesamte Layout mit Bedienung, alles per Midi voll kontrollierbar lässt einem keine noch so verqueren Wünsche offen. Das integrierte Noise Gate....Engl...bitte als Bodentreter rausbringen... ein Threshholdregler und selbst bei vollster Aussteuerung und vollem Gain...ist Ruhe, wenn man will, passt total zu dem straffen Aufbau und macht es einfach leicht sich mit dem Verstärker....sorry...sauwohl zu fühlen.
Ich habe wie oben gesagt die Möglichkeit den Engl mit dem Marshall gemeinsam zu betreiben.... da ich hauptsächlich zuhause im Homestudio an Klängen und Neuinterpretationen bastle habe ich jetzt mehr als Alles, was man benötigt...
Bin extrem zufrieden und kann den Engl Savage nur empfehlen...wer Ihn nicht testet, hat was versäumt...!
