Premesso che il pick up é estremamente personale…

Volevo un humbucker vintage e dopo averlo sentito sulla chitarra di un amico ho ritrovato quello che avevi provato con la sua strato: un suono caldo e morbido, un tono dolce, un perfetto equilibrio tra calore e chiarezza.
Questo sia sul suono pulito per l’ accompagnamento che con il distorto.
Montato e mai più tolto.

Great sounding pickup

I put two of these into a 1995 PRS Custom that I bought, a previous owner had removed the original pickups. I play a lot of high gain stuff, these pickups have a bite somewhere in the upper mids, sounds glorious through a cranked Marshall Super Lead! By the way, these are often described as bridge pickups, but there are no rules about such things. I put one in the neck position, it is hot so I lowered the height a bit, but it pairs very nicely with another one at the bridge.

If you lower it down a tad, it is a perfect match with the DP103, the original 36th Anniversary PAF, now designated for neck position, although I had a LP with DP103 in the bridge and neck positions, because, back in the "golden days" there were no bridge pickup or neck pickup, there were only pickups, and they went into guitars unsorted, so the vintage vibe was there, but on this LP, I needed a hotter bridge pickup, and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Ein sehr authentisch klingender PAF Humbucker mit ausgezeichnetem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis

Ich habe den DP223 in der Steg Position meiner 70er Jahre Greco Les Paul Copy eingebaut und konnte damit meinem Wunschsound, dem klassischen Les Paul Ton der 50er sehr nahe kommen.

Der DP223 bringt genau diese eigentlich gegensätzlichen Charakterzüge eines PAF Pickups mit und klingt kraftvoll, fett, durchsetzungsfähig und transparent/drahtig zugleich. Auch (und vorallem) im cleanen und leicht angezerrten Bereich kann der Dimarzio PAF seine Qualitäten ausspielen wobei modernere Doppelspuler oft komprimiert und muffig klingen. Bei höheren Verzerrunggraden bleibt der Pickup definiert und bei Sololinien kann er richtig singen.

Fazit: eine tolle PAF Interpretation von Dimarzio die mit teureren Boutiquepickups durchaus mithalten kann!
