Sound keeps growing on me…

I expected this 2BFD to be my favorite of the two mouthpieces chose to try. I got this and a JK 4D for my Thomann TRF-23 rotary Flugelhorn. While both are fantastic in cleaning up the feel and intonation from the piece it came with, the 2BFD has been growing on me for the sound… now depending on what I am playing the JK is not a loss as they are similar enough but much brighter. However did I mention that warm full sound that the Denis Wick makes? Wow!

Deep warmth of tone

Beautifully suits my Ceverny rotary flugel to produce great warmth of tone in the middle range, but copes with extremes of high and low notes. Personally prefer its sound to the Denis Wicks 4BFD which has sharper edge to the sound.

Super Klang, sehr schmaler Rand

Gleich beim ersten Ton war ich von dem Mundstück Denis Wick 2BFD überrascht. Der Sound ist sehr weich und angenehm. Im Vergleich zu meinem bisherigen JK 5F ist der Ton absolut klar und hat kein "rauschen".

Lediglich der Rand ist sehr schmal. Dies fällt beim Betrachten des Mundstückes sofort auf. Im Vergleich zum kleineren 3BFD ist der Außendruchmesser nächmlich gleich geblieben und lediglich der Innendurchmesser wird beim 2BFD größer und somit resultiert daraus, dass der insgesamt schmaler wird. Wie sich das auf längere Zeit auswirkt lässt sich momentan noch nicht sagen. Für mich war dies das erste Mundstück mit einem 17 mm Innendurchmesser und ich werde vermutlich auch auf der Trompete auf das Denis Wick Ultra Model mit 17 mm wechseln (<a class="article link" href="denis_wick_5282_ultra_1_1_4c_trumpet.htm">Denis Wick 5282 Ultra 1-1/4C Trumpet</a>).

Muss mit dem Flügelhorn harmonieren

Eigentlich ein exzellentes Mundstück mit genau dem Rand den ich mir gewünscht hatte - weiter Kessel mit dünnem Rand mit deutlicher Innenkante. Verarbeitung einwandfrei. Klang in der Mittellage warm und voll. Fast wie ein kleines Tenorhorn.
Leider harmonierte es überhaupt nicht mit meinem Flügelhorn. Die Intonation ging selbst auf normalerweise problemlosen Tönen den Bach hinunter. Kann passieren. Danke an Thomann für die Money Back Garantie. Trotzdem wert getestet zu werden falls man diesen Klang sucht. Vielleicht passt es ja zu eurem Instrument.
