I’ve used many audio interfaces over the years, and the Arturia AudioFuse 16R has easily become one of my favorites. It offers an incredible balance of high-end sound quality, solid build, and flexible I/O – all in a compact, rack-mounted format that fits perfectly into any professional or semi-pro setup.
Sound Quality
The sound is absolutely pristine. The preamps are ultra-clean and transparent, with more than enough gain for any type of microphone or instrument. They’re musical, dynamic, and don’t color the sound — exactly what I want in a high-quality interface.
Connectivity & Workflow
With 16 inputs and 16 outputs, plus ADAT expansion, it integrates flawlessly into my studio. The AudioFuse Control Center software is intuitive and powerful - perfect for managing routing and monitor mixes.
Build & Reliability
Build quality is excellent. The metal chassis feels solid and durable, and the interface runs cool and stable even during long recording sessions. I’ve had zero dropouts or performance issues, even with heavy sessions running multiple tracks and plugins.
Small Caveat
The only minor downside is the lack of S/PDIF connections, which would have been useful for connecting some digital outboard gear I occasionally use. Not a dealbreaker by any means, especially with ADAT available, but worth noting for those who rely on S/PDIF in their setup.
Verdict
The AudioFuse 16R is an absolute workhorse and a true pleasure to use. If you need a reliable, great-sounding, and professional-grade interface with plenty of I/O, this is one of the best options in its price range. Arturia has nailed it — highly recommended.
