I got this amp for practice and recording at home. The RB-110 is ideally suited for such use.
It is lightweight for its size, is very solid, and is absolute beautiful.
The SGT switch adds good character, without any harshness.
I have not yet tried the DI, but no matter -- this is an amp that simply makes you want to play.
An excellent little amp!
NB: I am a guitarist, not a bassist. In that regard I have no real comparisons in terms of bass amps. But, I do know sound and feel. This amp has plenty of both.

I think this is the right compromise amp as you can play at home having the right bass sound.

Super Combo für Zuhause und ein bisschen mehr

Ich wollte nach vielen Jahren meinen trauen Warwick BC 10 in Rente schicken und war auf der Suche nach einem guten Combo ab 40 Watt, der auch die tiefen Frequenzen gut rüberbringt. Getestet habe ich den Ampeg RB110, den Fender Rumble 40 und den Orange Crush 50. Die Qualität der Materialien beim Fender haben auf mich leider sehr billig gewirkt, der Sound war ok. Der Orange war super verarbeitet und die Gain/Blend-Reglung richtig gut.
Ich habe mich aber für den Ampeg entschieden. Natürlich liegt hier preislich noch etwas zwischen Orange und Ampeg, was für mich aber erstmal egal war. Der Ampeg war spitzenmäßig verarbeitet, die Optik ist der Hammer und der Sound von allen für mich am besten. Durchsetzungesstark und nicht so verhangen. Die 3-Band-Regelung greift gut ins Geschehen ein und die SGT-Schaltung überzeugt. Mit dem Levelregler auf Max hat man sogar etwas Kompression.

Ich kann den Ampeg rundherum empfehlen.
