Yamaha TAG3 C Sandburst

This is the second Yamaha TransAcoustic guitar in my collection, I also have a Yamaha FSC-TA.
If we compare them, the new TAG3 is definitely better. The overall quality is better, and especially the quality of the neck lacquer is much better. The guitar feels very good in the hands. The sound is very good.
The big advantages are the built-in battery and the looper. The battery lasts a long time.

But the looper can also be considered a disadvantage - there are two ways to start recording on the looper, the first is to press the record button, which is not convenient because the button is on the main control panel, you can't quickly press the button with your right hand and start playing. So there is a second option that starts recording automatically when you start playing. And there's a problem here, because the sensitivity of this threshold is very low, and you have to hit the strings very hard to start recording. If your part starts with a chord, it's not a problem because it will be quite loud, but if the part starts with a single string or a quiet chord (or a pick), it's a problem because the guitar won't start recording at the right moment because it will be too quiet for it.

Overall, I recommend this guitar, but if you're buying it for a looper, I'd advise you to try it first. For myself, I decided that I want to buy a looper pedal separately.

There's no need for an extensive review since others have already covered everything. I had my doubts in the beginning, thinking that the price is spiked due to all it's features and that it would be similar in quality to those that cost half the price. That's not the case! Overall, the guitar is amazing! The effects are what I wished would be and through the mobile app it's like you have many pedals available. The looper needs a little practice to get used to and find a rhythm.

It exceeded my expectatuins. The finish of the guitar is very good. It sounds great with electronics switched off. With the effects switched on it is absolutely amazing. Chorus and reverb work fantastic. Delay effect is mediocre. Loopper works very well. The most amazing feature is possibility of streaming guitar backing tracks through TAG 3 (via bluetooth) and playing the guitar with the effects simultaneusly. All of these without conecting to an amplifier. Absolutely stunning!

Wenn man die Gitarre das erste mal anwirft, ist definitv ein Wow-Effekt gegeben. Nach dem ersten Ausprobieren habe ich von den drei verfügbaren Effekten dann aber in der Regel nur noch ein wenig Chorus und Reverb-Effekt genutzt, da ich eigentlich den "reinen" Klang einer Westerngitarre schätze. Eine wirklich gut klingende Gitarre erzeugt meiner Meinung nach auch ohne technischen Schnickschnack und Effekte ein Wow-Erlebnis.
Der Looper ist angenehm zu bedienen und für mich das stärkste Kaufargument. Schade ist, dass es nicht auf der Gitarre direkt möglich ist, zwischen den 10 Speicherplätzen für Loops umzuschalten, dafür braucht man immer die App.

Klanglich siedelt sich die Gitarre in meinen Ohren etwa im 1000€-Spektrum an. Da ich aber den prinzipiell wenig mit Loops arbeite und mir die komfortablen Loop-Funktionen keine 600€ wert sind, habe ich die Gitarre wieder zurückgeschickt.

Wer aber viel mit Loops spielt und das auf ganz unkomplizierte Art und Weise mobil im Wohnzimmer tun möchte, und sonst auch mit Effekt-Pedals arbeitet, für den ist diese Gitarre sicher eine Überlegung wert. Wer die Westerngitarre wegen ihrer schlichten Schönheit schätzt und den reinen Klang bevorzugt, der wird sein Geld wohl besser für eine andere Gitarre ausgeben.
