Always loved the visual appearance and the concept of DRM1, but never liked how it sounds (judging from most of the videos on YouTube). After finding some great sounding demos and pulling the trigger on ordering one, I can say that it's way more versatile machine than you might think!
Kick: 10/10, it's just perfect
Drum 1 and Drum 2: super versatile - toms, basses, kicks, FX and overall FM sounds
Multi: also very versatile, makes you want to use MORE COWBELL
Snare: could be less harsh, plastic and sneezy sounding, IMHO, but can be worked around, especially with FX
Hat 1 and Hat 2: I know that not everyone is a fan of these Hats, but I am really into it, especially its harmonic component of the sound
Clap: didn't expect such good sounding clap on an analogue machine; another reason not to be worried about the Snare voice
Currently sequencing it via Novation Circuit Rhythm (which is extremely easy to set up), and use Ibanez ES-3 delay pedal (mostly on Multi voice). Kick is connected separately into the mono channel without FX, other voices get some reverb from Xenyx 1202SFX. Sometimes I also use MXR Micro Amp pedal on the clap sound to make it a bit nastier. More FX - more fun!
And! Voice outs are also inserts, so you really don't need a big mixer for it.
The build is fantastic.
Very happy with my purchase.
