Perfect for small bar gigs

With these I can play with full intensity without drowning out the rest of the band.
I also use low volume Zildjian hi hats to maximize this same premise.

Not good if your playing requires a lot of details.

Flexibler Sound bei geringem Gewicht

Ich spiele in einer Countryband und in einem Akustic-Projekt und benutze daher sehr oft Besen, Floppy-Sticks und Rods. Bisher hatte ich wenig Erfahrung mit Kunststoff-besen, habe mir aber nun doch welche zugelegt (Flixx FFS Rods + Vater Whip Stick Rods.
Die Whip Stick Rods liegen ausgesprochen gut in der Hand. Ich spiele damit sowohl auf meinem Pearl-Drumset als auch auf meinem Schlagwerk Booster-Set.
Der Verstellring erlaubt gute Variationen. Weiche, besenähnliche Anschläge sind genauso möglich, wie harte und laute Anschläge. Bis jetzt kann ich auch an der Verarbeitung nichts bemängeln. Die Kunststoffborsten erzeugen auf Cymbals einen klaren, gut definierten Ton. Über die Haltbarkeit kann ich leider noch kein Urteil abgeben, da ich die Stick Rods erst seit ca. 3 Wochen einsetze.

A l'exception des bagues de réglages qui ont une fâcheuse tendance à s'envoler, le son est bon et l'utilisation assez agréable. Ils me semblent un peu courts cependant. Le revêtement n'est pas trop glissant malgré les apparences.

Da das Schlagzeug in meiner Band recht häufig von verschiedenen Leuten gespielt wurde und die Rods aus Holz meist nur eine sehr geringe Lebenserwartung hatten fiel die demokratische Entscheidung, daß Geld aus der Bandkasse in dieses hoffentlich besser haltbare Produkt fliessen soll.

Fazit:
- die Plastik-Rods sind recht scharfkantig abgeschnitten. Das Gefühl sagt einem
daß es schöner wäre wenn sie ein wenig abgerundet wären wie bei diesen
Zahnbürsten
- der Bassist hat es beim ersten mal Spielen geschafft, daß die Rods
ordentlich ausgefranst sind und sich aus dem Gummi-Schaft gelöst
haben. Jedoch war die Bedienung wohl unsachgemäß
- Nachdem der Bassist ermahnt wurde und die Rods soweit wieder
nutzbar gemacht wurden, bleibt zu sagen: Die Dinger schauen aus wie Sau,
aber es ist immer noch kein Rod abgebrochen und somit kein Ersatz nötig:
Zweck erfüllt !

Bleibt zu sagen: Auch die billigsten Rods aus Holz sind irgendwie schöner
zu spielen, diese hier halten aber wenigstens eine Zeit lang.
