Great Vintage Design, Marvellous Sound, Minor Weakness....

The sound and design of these mics is extraordinary in this price class! Clear game changer appearance!

Pros:
- The cream color and embossed logo looks fantastic - with the cool side effect, that these mics never roll off from plain surfaces ... so well done :-)
- Sound is perfect - and (depending on expectations) really album ready
- Great UAD Console presets available online - could be supplemented for LUNA!?

Cons:
- Whatever they smoked during the design phase - the XLR inputs don't lock (using Neutrik, Vovox and all the other good stuff)...??? This is cruel, gruesome but concerning their sound an beauty .... but - WHY :-) ... You can live with it - and still enjoy the beauty of those pairs - but one question remains... why, why, why ??? I forwarded this question to Thomann - and surely we will find a solution.

Love them anyway - ... but (I know - sorry - to repeat myself...) WHY ;-)

Great sound but...

I bought this pair to use them in my studio: I use them mainly as drum overheads, often to records acoustic guitars and percussion . I really love the sound, detailed and transparent.

Unfortunately there are a couple of problems: there's an issue with the xlr male connector, I always have to struggle to find the right cable that fits in, otherwise the connector isn't locked. The second problem is that sometimes they pickup a lot of unwanted noise; I don't know how to explain precisely what happens but it happens only with this pair and it's not pleasant, especially when recording.

I decided to keep them because the sound is really good, I hope they will pay more attention with the quality control.

I like it a lot. The sound is really good. Come with nice stereo bar. Good fit for low budget production. Really good for guitar, string and drum instrument. Only one things make sad that its made in china.

MAJ / Thoman m'a renvoyé les mêmes micros tout neuf en échange de mes premiers et je n'ai pas le problème sur la nouvelle paire ! le problème venait de la paire reçu en premier . pas de problème de bruit .
Statisfait du service thoman et des micros SP1

Bruit de fond énorme sur ces micros sans mettre énormément de Gain, il y a un souffle qui rend ces micros inutilisable pour moi . J'ai testé et j'ai le même soucis sur les deux micros . Test fait avec une interface Apollo 8, sur UAD Volt2 et sur une console son analogique et le problème est le même partout
