Work great on deeper snares (5.5"+), not at all on pancakes (<4") . The fact that TAMA are installing them on their high-end snares must mean a lot. When the snare "likes" it, it becomes very sensitive - that's one change in addition to the tonal improvement. Some reviewers complain they broke too easily on them, but IMO that's because they SHALL NOT be tightened as much as other "ordinary" wires - because of the shape of the individual wires, they are designed to work under less tension.

Very good snare wires

Very good snare wires but the durability si kind of low...after 1-2 months a snare wire broke and ruined the sound.

Awesome snare wires for the price.

These Tama snare wires are excellent quality for the price and really are super sensitive. I will be buying these instead of more expensive Puresound wires in the future.
The only negative is that one wire has broken off after a few months of playing, so the build quality loses 1 star.

Sehr guter Teppich, auch im Vergleich zu hochpreisigen anderen

Dieser Tama-Teppich klingt auf meiner Maple 14x6,5" Snare hervorragend. Er spricht sehr sensibel an, geht von der Dynamik von ganz leise bis sehr laut linear mit. Der Klang ist dabei crisp, aber auch fein. Der Teppich braucht nicht stark gespannt zu werden und raschelt trotzdem nicht nach - das ist ein wirkliches Qualitätskriterium! Denn ein wenig gespannter Teppich lässt die Snare voll klingen und würgt das Reso nicht ab.
Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut, die Lötstellen der Spiralen sind sauber und es ragt nichts aus dem Lötzinn heraus, was das Fell beschädigen könnte.
Im Vergleich zum vorher montierten Teppich (auch ein vergleichbar teures Markenprodukt) klingt dieser Teppich sensibler und die ganze Trommel fühlt sich damit besser an. Im Vergleich zu einem sehr teuren "Boutique-Teppich" klang der Tama gleichwertig gut, so dass der fast doppelte Preis des anderen Teppichs nicht recht angemessen erscheint. Ich kann diesen Teppich daher nur wärmstens empfehlen!
