Fantastic Instrument

This Suzuki melodion is lovely looking, easy to play and has a beautiful tone. It comes with a handy case and plenty mouth piece options. I feel more confident playing this instrument as it looks more 'professional' being made of wood rather than plastic like my previous melodica. I had been searching for something like this for a couple of years before it was released, but well worth the wait. Highly recommended and very good service from Thomann.

Hintergrund
Ich habe zehn Jahre Erfahrung mit der Hohner Superforce und 20 Jahre mit Tasteninstrumenten. Meine Ansprüche sind dementsprechend hoch – das Folgende ist Kritik auf hohem Niveau.

Verarbeitung und Klang
Die Verarbeitung ist erstklassig, optisch eine 10 von 10. Klanglich nähert sich das Instrument einem Akkordeon und hebt sich deutlich von Standard-Melodicas ab. Besonders die hohen Töne klingen viel angenehmer. Die Dynamik reicht von sehr leise bis etwa 85 % der Lautstärke einer Superforce. Ein Highlight: Der Klang kommt von der Tasten-Seite direkt unter den Fingern – das sorgt für ein faszinierendes Klangerlebnis.

Spielgefühl
Die Ansprache ist extrem schnell, was präzises Spielen erfordert. Durch die niedrige Tastenhöhe fühlt es sich fast wie ein Touchscreen an. Schnelle Passagen gelingen leicht, aber auch jeder Fehlgriff ist sofort hörbar. Techniken wie das Benden von Tönen sind auf Grund der geringen Tastenhöhe kaum möglich.

Kritik
Die Entlüftung ist ein Problem: Feuchtigkeit sammelt sich schnell im Instrument, da es nur ein kleines Entlüftungsventil gibt. Hier hätte ich bei einem hochwertigen Instrument eine bessere Lösung erwartet. Die Menge an Speichel die sich im Instrument sammelt ist wirklich nicht zu unterschätzen! Und kann langfristig zu Schimmelproblemen führen.
Der Schwanenhals ist zwar praktisch, überträgt aber Vibrationen unangenehm auf die Lippen. Das kurze Mundstück ist hier die bessere Wahl.

Fazit
Ein großartiges Instrument mit einzigartigem Klang, das jedoch in der Entlüftung und dem Zubehör Verbesserungspotenzial hat.
