Romero Creations D HO 6-String Guitarlele Nylon

I wanted a bariton ukulele form factor, but without the hassle of 'reinventing' my voicings because a ukulele lacks the E and A strings. Those strings are my anchor points for voicings and a regular bariton ukulele doesn't work for me like I'd like it to.

This guitarlele brings the mellowness of a short scale nylon string instrument, but plays like a regular guitar. It's especially good for fingerstyle, any music at all.

I play jazz and Bossa tunes sound great on the D HO6, but I can also comp for a vocalist and sound good. I don't strum chords and maybe if you're into that, it might lack a little string separation.

The D HO6 needs a few hours of breaking it in and you can hear it opening up. The Pepe Romero strings sound great and craftsmanship is good. Intonation is good, fretwork is good, no glue residues anywhere.

Ergonomically, it shines on the couch where I can play sitting way back. Can't do that with a guitar. For standing up, it needs at least one strap button. I might add that later.

All in all a terrific instrument that I'll play for many years to come.

Je ne pensais pas qu’une petite guitare 1/2 pouvait sonner aussi bien et être aussi agréable à jouer pour un adulte! On n’est évidemment pas dans la puissance d’une guitare 4/4, mais il y a tout de même du volume et la beauté du son est vraiment surprenante. On est sur un instrument en bois massifs, il n’y a pas de doute! Rien à dire sur la fabrication, qui est parfaite. J’ai ajouté un bouton attache sangle, indispensable.
Guitare parfaite pour voyager ou pour jouer sur le canapé, parfaite également si comme moi vous souffrez de quelques petits problèmes de dos… Franchement l’un des meilleurs achats de ma vie! :)

Ich habe schon ewig nach einer „kleineren“ Alternative zu meiner Cordoba C10 oder der 55fce negra gesucht… und gefunden ! 👍

Die D-HO 6-String ist eher eine kleine Gitarre in Standard Tuning, als eine Guitarlele. Klangtechnisch merkt man kaum, hier ein deutlich kleineres Instrument zu spielen. Wunderbarer Klang trotz kleinerem Korpus und perfekt für Unterwegs. Klangtechnisch deutlich besser als jede Guitarlele, die ich bis jetzt gespielt habe.
