Roland RD-2000 EX - Do or do not.....there is no try

The Roland RD-2000 EX is a fantastic stage piano. The acoustic piano sounds are extremely realistic and are warm and full (especially when run in a stereo PA). The weighted piano action would fool most players in a blind test and it is adjustable to your taste. Although I haven't managed to test all of the synth and sample sounds (as there are over a 1000!) there are some excellent presets and enough for most genres. My most used function to date is the transpose function which is excellent for performances or teaching situations where you have a score in a different key than preferred. My only negative points are the lack of a keyboard music stand, but that is quite typical for Roland whose primary concern is stage synths. Also be warned that this a very heavy stage piano but it is built like a tank so I guess it feels like it is a tank! This piano has much more on offer than listed here but I have not tried them all as yet!! I am sure there are other equally stellar choices from other manufactures but Roland's flagship stage piano is a solid choice and investment for your art.

Geniale Klaviatur

Das RD 2000 EX hat meiner Meinung wirklich eine der besten Klaviaturen, die man in einem mobilen Instrument erwarten kann. Sowohl Gewichtung als auch die Haptik der Klaviatur kommen nah an eine echte Flügelmechanik ran. Selbst klassische Literatur lässt sich gut auf diesem Instrument spielen. Aber das ist ja nicht unbedingt der Einsatzbereich eines Stagepianos.

Die "Tastensounds" (also akustische Klaviere/Flügel, E-Pianos) sind für meine Begriffe sehr gut gelungen. Von den Orgelsounds nutze ich nur die Presets. Theoretisch könnte man die 9 Fader auch einsetzen, damit man das Instrument wie eine richtige Hammond registrieren kann. Das kommt aber haptisch mit den Fadern nicht hin und als eigentlicher Pianist, habe ich nichr die Muße dazu, mich damit zu sehr auseinandersetzen. Im Bandkontext reichen die Presets plus eingebaute Lesliesimulation dicke aus.

Die anderen Sound (z. b. Brass und Strings) finde ich persönlich bei meinem alten MOXF6 erstmal besser. Das ist aber absolute Geschmacksache. Die Pads sind absolut gut einsetzbar.

Auch genial, dass ich bis zu 8 Layer übereinander legen kann (beim MOXF 6 waren es 4). Klar leidet am Ende die Polyphonie, aber im Ernst 8 Layer gleichzeitig hab ich so gut wie nie im Einsatz. Daher auch 5 Sterne im Soundbereich. Meine persönliche Bemerkung zu den Brasses und Strings würden hier keine 4 Sterne rechtfertigen.

Ich spiele das Instrument jetzt gut 2 Monate und bin immer noch begeistert umd würde es wieder tun.

Die verbaute Tastatur zählt bestimmt zu einen der Besten die in einem Stage Piano verbaut wird.
Pianisten werden sich damit gleich wohl fühlen, da etwas schwergängiger.
Der Klang der Piano Samples ist Roland Typisch eher im wärmeren Bereich angesiedelt….was sich aber in einem Band Gefüge (Party Band etc.) trotzdem gut durchsetzt.
Auch die Verarbeitung ist Tip top 👍
