Where is the Quality?

The mouthpiece isn't that bad, but the ligature and cap are crap.
The cap is made of plastic and doesn't fit and it keeps falling of.
The ligature isn't precise you can use it to attach a reed, but the pressure plate is never in line with it.
This isn't the Otto Link it was years ago, it feels almost Chinese, (from years ago, because the Chinese improved their products, while Otto Link is Disproving them

Ich spiele seit vielen Jahren ambitioniert Altsaxophon und habe viele Mundstücke verschiedener Hersteller ausprobiert. Ich habe für mich auch geeignete gefunden, z.B. Selmer Soloist H und Meyer 8. Die vielen Fehlinvestitionen will ich dabei nicht aufzählen. Ich habe übrigens auch das von Paul Desmond gespielte Mundstück Mc Gregory 4 A 18 M (als Gregory Kopie 200 und 210) ausprobiert. Es sprach für mich in den unteren Registern nicht gut und kraftvoll genug an. Nun gut: neugierig auf eine Steigerung bin ich geblieben und habe deshalb Otto Link Metallmundstücke9, 6* und 7*getestet.
Um es kurz zu machen: 7* ist für mich eine Entdeckung!
In allen Registern super präsent von Sub Tone bis expressiv dominant! Leider ist die Blattschraube nicht gut gelungen, sie fixiert das Blatt nur unzureichend und das Profil der Stellschraube drückt sich scharf in die Finger.
Schlussbemerkung: Das geeignete Mundstück ist eine individuelle Angelegenheit. Man findet es nur durch Ausprobieren und Neugierig bleiben. Ich habe von Gerd Dudek, einem Jazzsaxophonisten vom alten Schlag mit internationaler Karriere, auf den JazzConceptions in Darmstadt erfahren, dass er bis heute auf der Suche nach dem für ihn besten Mundstück geblieben ist...

Hola:
He tocado muchos años un Saxo tenor Selmer Serie II con una boquilla OTO LINK Supertone Máster 6*, y es la mejor boquilla que he tenido.
Ahora, he probado para un saxo alto la OTTO LINK Supertone Máster 7 *, y la he devuelto.
Supongo que esto es cosa de la falta de costumbre pero:
Ya me lo habían advertido, ...Tiene un defecto de fabricación donde se notan los puntos de unión en el centro de la boquilla, donde quedan pequeños poros..
La abertura está desproporcionada y hay que meter mucha cantidad de aire y apretar un montón, y ya no digo nada de la afinación.
Como no me rindo, y ahora que ya tengo mi nuevo saxo Yamaha Yas 62-04 (que va como un tiro con la boquilla 4C) pero yo soy de boquillas metálicas OTTO LINK, probaré la OTTO LINK Supertone Máster 5*, que abre menos, y seguro que estaré encantado, pero ya os contaré...

Das Mundstück ist recht gut verarbeitet . Ich spiele mit OTTO LINK SUPER TONEMASTER ALTSAX 7*
schon ziemliech lange Zeit (5 Jahre). Und kann ich mindestens 10 Menschen nennen, die mit OTTO LINK SUPER TONEMASTER ALTSAX 7* spielen. Alle sind sehr zufrieden. Besonders eignet sich das Metallmundstück für Jazz und Pop Musik. Schöner und flexibieler Sound.
