Great not just for tuning

First thing first, I did not purchase this felt for tuning.

Rather, I needed a piece of felt to use on a guitar string damper (google Jennifer Batten, the tapping specialist from Michael Jackson's 80s touring band).

It was a bit hard and smooth for that purpose but I sorted that out by making it just a little bit ragged.

Since then, bits, strips and pieces of this felt unit served anywhere where a soft touch was needed - attaching Roland GK-3 controller to the guitar, cushioning equipment in the case so it doesn't move when transported, preventing a battery from rattling inside a modified electric guitar...

Sure, you can get felt elsewhere but this comes kind of ready for musicians of all shapes and sizes, so hey, if' you need to add something cheap to your basket to qualify for free shipping, throw in this red felt.

I guarantee you find it useful.

In some pianos (especially upright pianos) the distance between the string sets (mid-high notes) is great, so you need to make more folds to mute the strings

Wie bewertet man ein Stück Filz??! Nun ja, er lässt sich geschmeidig in den Oktavbereich klemmen, funktioniert einwandfrei und ist auch leicht wieder zu entfernen!

Weil ich nur hin und wieder einzelne Töne nachstimmen muss, habe ich die hohen Kosten eines Komplettsets gescheut und komme mit dieser Entscheidung bestens klar. Ein Stimmschlüssel, zwei Gummikeile und ein Temperaturfilz reichen vollkommen aus. Mehr braucht man in der Regel nicht. In der Einzelbeschaffung sind diese Teile erheblich preiswerter - besonders bei Thomann!
