I used this on a 14'' Hi-Hat. It's not an ultimate solution by itself, the hi-hat is still pretty loud and the playing feel gets affected a lot. You can nonetheless hear a clear effect, the sound gets dampened and the volume reduced to a level that was good enough for my needs. Maybe it's not ideal by itself for someone with strict volume limitations.
It's made well of high quality material, though, absolutely nothing negative on this side.
