No More Sharp Notes On Lower Frets!

The Hosco SOS-EG1 works brilliantly on all Fender and Gibson electric guitars, where the nut is not compensated. Some other manufacturers, e.g. PRS, do an average compensation by moving the nut forward by about 0.6 mm, so this device will not work on those guitars. I have the the SOS-EG1 on all my Fender and Gibson guitars. The saddle compensations have to be changed a little to bring the 12th fret octaves back in tune, but this is easy to do. I file the nut slots down to be the same height as the first fret before I install the SOS, which ensures that all six strings press down firmly on it. If the nut slots are too high, there is a possibility that some or all of the strings will not be supported by the SOS. I use Music Nomad diamond nut slotting files in conjunction with a Hosco Step gauge to achieve the correct nut slot depth.

Meine Saitenkerben im Sattel bei meiner billigen Squier Strat zu weit gefeilt. D Saite hat geschnarrt wie Hölle. Zu faul gewesen einen neuen Sattel zu kaufen und wieder zum Optimum zu feilen.
Dieses Ding einfach unter die Saiten an den Sattel geschoben. Problem gelöst und Intonation ist jetzt auch besser. Als schnelle einfache Lösung für Zweitgitarren absolut zu empfehlen. Natürlich auch für die Hauptgitarre wen die Optik nicht stört ;)

Vorher habe ich an meiner Epiphone Sheraton keine saubere Stimmung hinbekommen, auch nicht mit Justierung der Einstellungen am Steg. Mit Stimm App (Fender) geprüft war der Sprung leere Saite gegen 1. Bund immer zu groß, auch bei ganz sanftem Fingerdruck. Besonders auffällig: Wenn die Abstimmung hohe E-Saite leer gegen E auf der G-Saite richtig war, war leeres G gegen G gegriffen auf der E Saite falsch und umgekehrt. Das kleine Stückchen Plastik (stolzer Preis dafür) reingeschoben, Einsteller am Steg ein bisschen korrigiert und jetzt passt es. Eine individuell zurechtgefeilte Sattelkompensation (s. diverse Beträge im Netz) mag noch perfekter sein, aber für mich reicht es so vollkommen.

Ein wirklich interessantes kleines Hilfsmittel. Tatsächlich hatte ich keine Lust bei meiner Prophecy den zu tief gefeilten Knochen auszutauschen und habe stattdessen einfach mal dieses Teil ausprobiert.
Man kann die Saitenhöhe recht gut mit den beigefügten Klebestreifen anpassen, und der Einbau ist wirklich leicht. Das Ergebnis ist praktisch wie ein Nullbund mit allen Vorteilen.
