Harley Benton PB-62CC Olympic White

Non lasciatevi ingannare dal prezzo, questo basso vale molto, molto di più del suo prezzo. Il pu suona da paura, se vi piace il timbro del Vintera o dell'American Vintage, il pb 62 ci si avvicina molto. In un mix è praticamente indistinguibile. Tono e volume sono progressivi ed estremamente silenziosi. Il manico secondo me è la parte migliore : la larghezza al capotasto è generosa, però la mia mano non trova difficoltà anche nei passaggi più scomodi. Probabilmente il raggio della tastiera poco bombato aiuta un po' nei fraseggi veloci. L'acero roasted è molto bello alla vista e gradevole al tatto, quasi setoso.Oltre a questo,il legno trattato termicamente è anche più rigido e mi sembra che risponda meglio al tocco della mano sx. Nel modello che ho ricevuto, i frets non grattano e si può settare l'action piuttosto bassa, senza che le corde friggano. Suonando si ha l'impressione di maneggiare uno strumento di qualità, davvero piacevole. Verniciatura del body perfetta, meccaniche e ponte ok.
Raccomando questo basso a chiunque voglia uno strumento ben fatto con un suono vintage spendendo pochissimo.
Se vi piace smanettare sullo strumento, potreste montargli un ponte ad alta massa (si trova anche a buon mercato) e il suono migliorerà ancora. Io l'ho fatto e ho notato subito un prolungamento del sustain e armonici più in risalto.
Unico caveat : il manico, anche se comodo, non è l'ideale per principianti o persone con mani piccole.

For the price, this is an amazing bass but it needed a bit of work...

Pros: Once setup this looks, sounds and plays amazing and punches well above it's price tag. The roasted maple neck is solid, tuners are good and the bridge too. The pickup is really punchy and can go from mellow to growling.

Cons: This is my 8th Harley Benton and the first where I've had to do more than just a decent setup. All the fret edges were really quite sharp and it took a while with a fret file to get them rounded and feeling good. Once done, this plays exceptionally well. Not sure if mine just slipped through the QC check but you also have to align your expectations to the price tag.

I may look at upgrading the tuners and the nut, but the stock ones are more than functional for now.

I have been looking to buy a Harley Benton PB-62 for a long, long, long time... and for the many months of browsing the website, i always wished that they made one in Olympic White. When i saw this brand new color in the line pop up the other day, I INSTANTLY clicked and bought it, no hesitation.

This is my only bass and i only have guitars lying around so there's nothing for me to compare to for more accurate comparisons. However I would like to still say that the instrument was set up very well out of the box, the frets are nice, and the neck feels good; the roasted maple neck is definitely the standout feature of this bass, as very little manufacturers produce basses with this type of neck at this price. It looks exceptionally clean everywhere, good craftsmanship. It also sounds like a P-bass.

There is only one downside: neck dive. Lots of it. The body is made out of a very light wood, and the tuners are heavy. This can be greatly reduced by buying lightweight tuning machines, so that doesn't really matter to me.

Overall this is a great instrument, with a price that is far cheaper than similar basses if you were to buy from alternative brands. No regrets.
