Harley Benton MV-5JB Burgundy Mist

Lo strumento si presenta molto bene esteticamente, molto ben rifinito. La tastiera non è comodissima, le corde devono stare un po' alte, anche dopo la regolazione del truss , altrimenti friggono, ma è molto morbido ed è scorrevole. I pickup sono più che accettabili ed ha un bella voce. La quinta corta suona parecchio, per un basso di questa fascia. Le meccaniche sono scadenti, una ha molto gioco, ma si può accordare lo stesso e rimane accordato. L'intonazione lascia un po' a desiderare, poichè , nonostante sia accordato a corda libera e sull'ottava, sulle altre note è un po' calante. Nel complesso lo strumento è divertente da suonare. La serie Pro, con qualche euro in più e decisamente un'altra cosa. Sono comunque soddisfatto.

I own 6 basses, sire pj, music man style bases, ibanez SR, this one is simply the best, im a huge fan. So much so that after a half a year of active playing a bought a second one except in blue, so would have one in my practice room :D its only 250€. Love the colour. The sound is fenomenal.

Im not 100% satisfied with the durability after praying it in rehearsal for about 2hrs a day for half a year the potentiometers began to scratch although I do turn them very actively to be frank (easy fix tho with some contact cleaner) and the top screw has begun to undo itself quite often, which should be another easy fix. No other things to complain about. Love it.

I have been looking for a 5-string for some time, and even had the Sanderg 70th anniversary bass for a couple weeks before returning it. But that was due to price and needing the money other places. But I loved the sound of that.
When shopping for a new one I wanted one that was easy to play and reasonably priced. Having bought the HB-D-41 acoustic a month I decided quickly that I wanted to try a HB bass. I was thinking for a while what I wanted to buy, but landed on a JJ bass since this fits the style I play the most. Thomann shipping went great. New bass. Looks amazing, and bundled with a soft case (which can take a lot of beating). The purple is slightly darker and less shiny and sparkly than the pictures, and found that it looks better in real life rather than the pictures.
Just had to do a little truss rod and bridge/intonation adjustment, and it plays like a dream that costs much more.
The neck is a matt finish. And with my sweaty fingers it plays amazingly better than my 4-string with a lacquered finished. I previously had a Fender Player Plus that I sold, but this play a lot better. And it's 4-5 times cheaper.
With time I will change out the pots and pickups, but for the price this is unbeatable. The frets need to be sanded down a little bit, but if you want reasonable 5-string, or just one laying around "just in case", this is the one to buy. I recon the other colours of the same model plays just as well. With time I will get this model as a 4-string precision just because the neck play so well. (I also got the 5-string enhanced active with the humbucker. It also play great, but the weight would be unbearable in the long run)
