Gretsch G5655T-QM is a great guitar and great value for money

High quality guitar from the Gretsch made in China range, beautifully designed and finished in every detail. Played very nicely straight from the box, however a little tweaking was required to fully optimize the action on a superb neck. This model gives a great range of sounds making it very versatile guitar to cover a lot of musical genres.
Up to now I have been a Fender player (Tele and Strat) but have been looking at Gretsch guitars for a while because they look so damn good. Now I've got one and I'm not disappointed.

I wanted a guitar that could add a different texture to my studio setup without becoming a niche instrument. The Gretsch G5655T-QM turned out to be exactly that.

This guitar sits somewhere between a classic hollow body and a modern solid body. It has the openness and harmonic richness you expect from a Gretsch, but with much better control thanks to the center block construction. It handles gain, delays and large stereo reverbs far better than I expected.

The Broad’Tron pickups cut through dense mixes beautifully without sounding harsh or muddy. Clean sounds are wide and detailed, while driven tones remain articulate and focused. The compact body is also far more comfortable than larger hollow body guitars.

Among my current collection (Jazzmaster, Stratocaster, ESP LTD and classical guitar), this Gretsch has unexpectedly become my favorite. It simply inspires playing and immediately sounds “finished” in a mix.

If you want a versatile semi-hollow with character that also works extremely well in a modern studio or pedal-based setup, this is a fantastic choice.

Quality wise guitar came out perfect, only little setup was needed.

Ich habe mir diese Gretsch direkt im Laden ausgesucht und an verschiedenen Amps zur Probe gespielt. Der Klang ist sensationell, egal ob clean oder mit ordentlich Gain die Gitarre klingt in meinen Ohren wie gewünscht. Die Bespielbarkeit sowie Verarbeitung ist ebenfalls prima.
Das Halsprofil wird in der Beschreibung als "Thin U" dargestellt. Ich empfinde den Hals eher als "C-Shape" und er ist damit für meine großen Hände sehr komfortabel zu bespielen.
Saitenlage und Intonation waren aus der Box okay, ich habe nur wenig nachjustieren müssen.
Stimmstabilität ist mit dem Bigsby gut.
Meine Decke und deren Maserung ist nochmal schöner als auf dem Produktfoto ader das ist ja immer auch etwas persönliches Empfinden.
