Glockenklang Steamhammer

First, This amp DOES run on either 110 or 220. I communicated with Udo Klempt-Gießing, directly, and he told me this directly in an email. There is a switch on the bottom of the amp that switches the voltage. Just slide the switch to the desired voltage, install the correct fuse, and you are good to go. I am in the US and I have one. Now onto the review.......

The first thing you notice when you unpack this amp in, is how smooth the controls are, you can feel the quality immediately. All of the different sections of the amp, the drive/voice, EQ all function perfectly. If you run the amp with the EQ, and drive/voice off and you will hear exactly what your bass really sounds like. I use a little drive just to add some a little growl, and that is about it. This is the most accurate amplifier I have ever used, and I have had quite a few, Mesa Subway WD800, and the D-800+, Genzler, GK, EBS, TecAmp, just to name a few, and the Steamhammer is a far superior product. My only complaint is, the amp is so accurate, my mistakes come through loud and clear.

IMHO, This amp is far and away the absolute finest Class D amp on the market I have found to date. I have been manufacturing boutique bass cabinets for over 20 years, and have given seminars on sound, and I have finally found the amp I have always been looking for. And one more thing, I just love saying "Glockenklang Steamhammer" Coolest name ever.

Do not pass go, Buy this amp now, you will never regret it.

The amp delivers the tone Glockenklang are known for (love it!!!), but also, for me, there is a whole added extra when using the Drive section: it very strongly reminds me of my old Acoustic 370 amp: fat, thick, very slightly overdriven/saturated if played ‘hard’ but always punchy and articulate. Best of both worlds!
I’m 68, been playing live since I was 16, and have owned many amps, from early Trace Elliot (AH500)/Fender tube (inc. 300W Rumble) to Acoustic/Thunderfunk/Cerwin Vega: I’ve never felt as ‘at home’ with an amp as I do with the Steamhammer. What’s in my head just comes out the cab. Had questions before purchase, team gave quick and full responses. Super happy all round :)

Hi also nach sehr langem Zögern nun doch ein Glockenklang Steamhammer, was soll ich sagen hätte ich schon vor Jahren machen sollen. Viele Amps ( Ampe, Aguilar ,EBS, Mark.. und so weiter) gingen bei mir ein und aus immer nach der suche für meinen Ton, aber es gelang nie richtig gut.
Bass selber Fender Jazz und Sandberg Cali. Box (lacht nicht) eine leichte Aguilar sl 410 und jetzt ran den Steamhammer, (hatte auch sehr viele Boxen im Test ,212, 112, 410 ,115, Marken sage ich bloß) , und was soll ich sagen naja alle Regler auf null Volumen rein, da war er, der Ton der mich überzeugte, den ich lange suchte von Jazz bis Rock ohne wenig den EQ zu benutzen alle Lieder klingen Top im Bandgefüge. Also für mich eine Klare Kauf Empfehlung. Kurz dazu, meine Bässe bringen zum ersten mal ihren wahren Ton zum Vorschein also kein einfluss von Endstufen und Preamps davor, was hat mich solange abgehalten: Nicht der Preis, eher immer die Meinungen im Netz, ist zu Hifi, ist zu sauber kannst, kaum den Ton beeinflussen, sehr klinisch vom Ton, ist er aber garnicht er klingt einfach nur gut ohne den Ton zuverbiegen. Also ich bin angekommen, Probiert Ihn aus, aber er kann keine schlechten Bässe zu Super Bässen machen. Gruß

Des têtes d'amplis basse, j'en ai eus beaucoup, et quand je dis beaucoup, c'est vraiment beaucoup.
Celui ci est de loi le meilleur à égalité peut être avec le terrible Trickfish Bullhead .5K et encore...
Je le joue avec un cab FMAC AUDIO ou un BAREFACED et alors là....Whaou...
Comme déja dit dans un précédent commentaire, le seul défaut de cet ampli, est qu'il laisse apparaître les défauts du bassiste.
Alors lui, on ne peut pas tricher, aucune place à l'erreur.
Quel plaisir de jouer dessus.
J'utilise aussi bien des basses passives que des actives,, des frettées, que des fretless, des acoustiques et même des contrebasses.
Rien ne bronche.
Le meilleur achat de toute ma vie au niveau des amplis.

Ah si peut être et encore que on ne doit pas souvent en avoir besoin, le support technique Glockenklang, invisible et muet...
