You want a classic Jazz Bass sound - get this one

I'm not a Bass player, but I wanted to get into bass since 2018 or 2019.

I've laid my eyes on the newer Ibanez basses, the Multiscale SRMS800, the multiscale BTBs, and the EHBs. I especially liked the ones with nordstrand pickups, and I was convinced that I will just end up buying one of the EHBs.

That was until I got into a local store and checked several basses head to head, and, to my surprise, the most comfortable and best sounding bass was the Fender Player Jazz Bass. The neck is thinner than the 4-string EHB (I think it's 38mm vs 41mm, but comparing head to head, I just felt that the J neck felt better). And the sound just had so much more character. The Jazz Bass won not only agains the EHB with Bartolinis, but it just stood out more even against the nordstrands.

Once I realised, "hey, I actually like the Jazz Bass the most", I saw that Fender released the Player II with rolled fretboards and new colours so I got one.

I absolutely adore this bass. It looks great, it plays fantastic, sounds like you expect it to. I had 0 issues with mine.

Took it out of the box, adjusted the neck relief and it's good to go.

I've been very happy with this bass so far. The quality control on mine was excellent, with no issues out of the box and everything feeling solid and well put together.

It sounds exactly like you'd expect from a good Jazz Bass, with plenty of clarity and a nice range of tones. The neck also feels very comfortable and fast to play, which makes it easy to move around the fretboard.

Another thing I really like is the weight. It's quite light and comfortable, especially when carrying it around or playing for longer periods.

Overall, I don't really have anything negative to say about it. It plays well, sounds great and feels like a very well-made instrument. Very happy with the purchase.

Thomann.es team as usual they delivered fast and were great with the customer support.

Guter Sound trifft feine Optik

Habe den Bass als Ersatz für einen ausgedienten Cort Bass bestellt und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Hab den Bass auch früher schon in den Händen gehabt und wusste worauf ich mich einlasse.

Kurz & knapp - viel Bass für überschaubares Geld, knackiger Sound der so ziemlich jede Musikrichtung bereichert

Klare Kaufempfehlung

Einziges Manko.. der Techniker von Fender, der das Ding besaitet und eingestellt hat, sollte nachgeschult werden. Die A Saite schnarrt zwischen Sattel und Mechanik und der Halsspannstab hätt auch ein wenig Liebe vertragen ;)
Aber nix tragisches und vorallem nix was man nicht selbst beheben kann

La perfection incarnée

Ayant longtemps désiré une fender jazz bass en n'ayant qu'une Harley Benton à me mettre sous la dent et étant admiratif du bassiste du groupe Ghost, cette fender player II jazz bass est juste parfaite. Le son est génial, les finitions propres (malgré des bords de frettes un peu moyens) et l'ensemble est juste splendide. Le manche est cependant arrivé avec une courbe digne d'une banane mais un coup de truss rod et on en parle plus.
Vous n'aurais aucun regret et n'avez pas à hésité sur ce modèle ;)
