I've wanted a Jason Isbell telecaster since they came out, and having seen him play his own which this model is based off live I was curious to see if it would carry the same character.

Unfortunately the first order hand to be returned due to some damage that must have happened during delivery, but Thomann shipped a new one out to me very quickly and its replacement was perfect.

The first thing i noticed when taking it out of the gigbag was the roadworn neck; it feels amazing and smooth in your hand.
The double binding is a really nice touch.
I was very impressed by the aging carried out to the finish, it feels like i've owned the guitar for years and gives loads of character.

Playability is amazing, the setup was great coming out of the bag. No sharp frets and nice action.
The modified bridge is a nice feature having owned other vintage telecasters in the past with regular ash trays I can say that this is much more comfortable.

Sound is nice and clear, nice warmth and the pickups work great with a bit of added grit

Nun ja, keine normale Tele. Ausgepackt, bewundert eingestöpselt und…. What‘s That? Weiter gespielt, eingespielt und…. Lieblingsgitarre. Blues, Rock, what ever you want…. Try it. It‘s worth it!!!!

Ich bin sehr glücklich mit dieser Gitarre. Die Bespielbarkeit ist topp. Der Hals liegt gut in der Hand. Die Gitarre ist sehr gut eingestellt. Die 10er Saiten habe ich auf meine Lieblingsmarke gewechselt, wo ich mich dann gleich wohlgefühlt habe. Der Sound ist wie man es von einer Tele erwartet, hat nicht ganz den extremen Twang, was ich aber an der Gitarre mag. Die Gitarre reagiert super auf Volume und Tonregler. Der graue Plastikknopf am Switch-Schalter war etwas wackelig, das konnte ich aber selbst beheben.

Nicht preiswert aber den Preis nicht wert

Das auspacken hat länger gedauert als das ausprobieren. Offensichtlich verlässt sich Thomann in Puncto Qualitätskontrolle auf den Hersteller und umgekehrt, was zur Folge hat, dass gar keine Qualitätssicherung mehr stattfindet. Der Hals, insbesondere das Abrichten, polieren und vor allem das Entgraten der Bünde wurde offenbar komplett vergessen. Wer auf auf überstehende Bundstäbchen, und zwar alle und auf beiden Seiten steht, ist hier richtig.
Ich stehe nicht drauf.
Absoluter Höhepunkt war für mich die Tatsache, dass der im Hals eingelassene Skunkstripe komplett fasst 1 mm aus dem Hals schaut und übersteht.
Fazit: das Instrument ist im ausgelieferten Zustand nicht spielbar und müsste vom Gitarrenbauer überarbeitet werden.
Für diesen Preis absolut inakzeptabel.
Schade.
