I've wanted a Jason Isbell telecaster since they came out, and having seen him play his own which this model is based off live I was curious to see if it would carry the same character.

Unfortunately the first order hand to be returned due to some damage that must have happened during delivery, but Thomann shipped a new one out to me very quickly and its replacement was perfect.

The first thing i noticed when taking it out of the gigbag was the roadworn neck; it feels amazing and smooth in your hand.
The double binding is a really nice touch.
I was very impressed by the aging carried out to the finish, it feels like i've owned the guitar for years and gives loads of character.

Playability is amazing, the setup was great coming out of the bag. No sharp frets and nice action.
The modified bridge is a nice feature having owned other vintage telecasters in the past with regular ash trays I can say that this is much more comfortable.

Sound is nice and clear, nice warmth and the pickups work great with a bit of added grit

Nun ja, keine normale Tele. Ausgepackt, bewundert eingestöpselt und…. What‘s That? Weiter gespielt, eingespielt und…. Lieblingsgitarre. Blues, Rock, what ever you want…. Try it. It‘s worth it!!!!

Ich bin sehr glücklich mit dieser Gitarre. Die Bespielbarkeit ist topp. Der Hals liegt gut in der Hand. Die Gitarre ist sehr gut eingestellt. Die 10er Saiten habe ich auf meine Lieblingsmarke gewechselt, wo ich mich dann gleich wohlgefühlt habe. Der Sound ist wie man es von einer Tele erwartet, hat nicht ganz den extremen Twang, was ich aber an der Gitarre mag. Die Gitarre reagiert super auf Volume und Tonregler. Der graue Plastikknopf am Switch-Schalter war etwas wackelig, das konnte ich aber selbst beheben.

This guitar is a good choice if you want a Telecaster, really. Nitro finish, good craftsmanship and sound for the money. Man, even those pickups sound great and there’s no real need for change. In my case even the factory setup was OK but I had to do the setup for a set of 11s strings which is different than the set of 10s which come from the factory. I can definitely recommend just one thing … go and buy compensated bridge saddles for this guitar. It’s a small and cheap modification but it’s a good choice and the impact is awesome for the money. You can buy a set of saddles that looks similar to the stock set. I have more expensive guitars but I can say this guitar is great and I was really surprised right after the first moments I played it. Very resonant, good sounding and looking instrument.
