Great sound, aesthetic flaw

Like the sound a lot. Brings a nice warm sound out of my new bass drum. Been using the 2cm muffler which is working great; with no pillow in my bass drum, I get just the right amount of tone vs muffling. A little afraid to play hard on it but so far so good.

The head itself looks great. For such a beautiful head though, there's an unfortunate nitpick - they put the barcode and all the ugly printed info on the metal rim of the head right over the Evans Calftone text. So if I put on the head right side up, with the text right side up and the "Evans" brand text in the top middle, like it should be (rather than sideways or upside down), I have to look at the barcode the whole time I'm playing, which spoils the look. It's the same on the non-EMAD version, which I have on the resonant side. Barcodes everywhere, brings the whole aesthetic down. Really can't believe they'd allow that to happen to such a beautiful head.

Habe dieses Fell für mein neues Gretsch Catalina Jazz Club Set gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden. Der Sound ist großartig und die Option zum dämpfen mit 2 verschiedenen Ringen bzw. ohne Dämpfer ist natürlich äußerst praktisch. Dadurch hat man die Möglichkeit den Sound ganz einfach zu verändern. Was ich aber wirklich empfehlen kann ist ein etwas weicherer Beater - dadurch erhält das Fell einen etwas offeneren, wärmerern Ton.
