Engl E633 Fireball 25

Ho avuto modo di provare la Ironball SE prima di questa Fireball 25 e, a livello di resa sonora, questo è assolutamente in linea con gli ampli di vattaggio più alto, grande headroom e suono bello e cattivo di gusto. Il canale pulito è molto bello, non è un Fender ma è molto bello e se si alza il gain viene fuori un crunch parecchio dinamico. La qualità costruttiva è eccellente. Io lo uso solitamente ad 1 watt in camera; con questa bestiola puoi suonarci tranquillamente con un gruppo in sala.
Acquisto eccellente, ENGL non delude mai.

Uno degli amplificatori più "plug & play" che abbia mai avuto. Ha un timbro che si presenta equilibrato anche con i settaggi standard, in meno di 5 minuti avrete il vostro suono già pronto. Altra differenza rispetto ad altri amplificatori per heavy metal: è utilizzabile anche senza tube screamer, suona "tight" e percussivo già di suo. Personalmente lo uso comunque con un boss sd-1 per ulteriore croccantezza sonora.
Altro grande pro è il fatto che suoni bene anche a volumi bassissimi, a differenza dei miei altri due ampli (mesa rectifier) che necessitano di essere spinti per non risultare fizzosi. Le valvole 6L6 gli conferiscono un tono da amplificatore "adulto", non suona come la maggior parte degli ampli lunchbox con el84.
Unico difetto: il loadbox interno per registrare non è il massimo, meglio utilizzare una loadbox reattiva tipo Torpedo Captor o simili.

The Engl Fireball 25 is an outstanding, versatile amplifier. It's design is intelligent, and well executed. This Fireball of an amp delivers crushing high gain metal tones at house, and apartment volumes. The power soak feature allows you to dial in the heavy, distorted tone that you want, and retain it at low wattage, and conversation volume. Even on the 1 watt setting it drives a Harley Benton 2x12 without any issues. The noise gate is a great feature, and it takes adjustments well. Though it can be aggressive, on it's max setting.

The tones. It's an Engl amp. It delivers outstanding overdriven almost 80s Metal tones with the clean gain turned up, and crushing distortion on the lead channel. It takes low, mid, and high output pick ups equally well, and truly makes them sing, be it clean, or dirty. Both the clean, and lead channels take pedals very well. I run an Empress Heavy in front of the amp, and it enhances both channels. The clean channel is also excellent.

If you want a fire breathing metal amp that you can play at home, or gig with, pick this amp up. You will not regret your choice.
