La prima volta che ho mixato con queste monitor mi si è aperto un mondo, sono molto dettagliate sulle medioalte e allo stesso tempo tengono bene le basse frequenze. In questa fascia di prezzo a mio parere sono le migliori.

Simply brilliant.

I bought these mostly from the reviews I read online, and being familiar with the old BM6As we used to have in a studio many years ago, I felt somewhat comfortable with my purchase.

I had been wanting a 3-way monitor for some time now, just to get more mid-range clarity, and considered many brands and models; the usual suspects (EVE, Hedd, Focal, etc), yet something always steered me back to the LYD 48s, not only because they are relative cheaper than their closest competition, but mostly because it's, well...Dynaudio.

The packaging is second to none, nice clear instructions (really not much to soak in, basic stuff) and once all was plugged in and ready, I turned them on and started playing some of my go-to reference tracks and my jaw literally dropped to the floor.

Absolute perfection.

The depth, the tight and controlled low-end, the clear mids and highs, the separation, I could clearly hear the panning in mixes like never before, I'm simply in awe. My room isn't even that big, it's quite small in fact, but treated, and these guys deliver a punch. They not only met my expectations (and this after only 20 min of them being turned on for the very first time, haven't even 'burned them in' yet ), but they surpassed them beyond my wildest expectations.

If you had been thinking about these, or had any inclination to give them a spin, by all means, do it. Since late spring I've had them on my wishlist and as soon as they get a shipment, they sell out within days. And now, I can totally see why.

This was also my very first Thomann purchase, and certainly not my last.
Very responsive with any concerns I had, excellent customer support.
Package even arrived a tad earlier than expected, well packed, etc.
Fantastic experience, thank you.

Overall, the LYD 48's stereo soundstage is vast and solid, giving a real sense of depth in which instruments and other sources c

Never before have you encountered a monitor with such a wide frequency coverage of the midrange monoblock, and there are no anomalies in the midrange domain caused by the sub, so the sound and instrument reproduction in that area is impressive. The ability to express all the details clearly and effortlessly allows you to find the problem. The soft dome tweeter is smooth and the fine sound performance allows the monitor to be listened to for a long time without interruption.

Try them

Hope this post will be useful. Got a pair of those after listening at least 10 other brands and models in a music store. What was great in the listening room is that they had a tablet allowing you to switch between all the models in real time, so comparing them on the fly was really great.

My impression from the very begining was how boxy and dry they sounded.I also was shocked by the lack of low range.
There were placed on a shell close to the wall, roughly 1m60 tall and there were at least 4m between them, which is a lot. Even though the stereo image was impressive: you could "see" the singer right in the middle.

So I kept wondering if they were good or not, mixed feelings, almost a no go. But that stereo image kept me thinking.

So here’s my 2 cents :They got that Bass Extension switch that allows you to choose from +10Hz, 0 and -10Hz What happens here is that when you choose +10Hz they will significatly low cut the frequency range : this means that saving all the energy needed to reproduce at their lower range (30Hz) will allow them to reproduce at a higher volume output level.
On the opposite at -10Hz they will operate at full range so at lower volume output.

So I came back to the store and ask them to show me the real panel :Setting was at +10Hz and the « Wall or Free » switch was set in «Wall » which cuts the low end in case you may want to place them next to the walls. So probably those overall settings were not the best.
That switch can be counter intuitive, leading you to beleive that +10Hz will enhance the low range.

This is subjective but keep in mind that these are 3 way speakers so if you decide to cut the low range expect the mids and highs to be prominent ,and these ones are a clear example.

I don’t think that these are made to be used at very high volume, at a certain point they can be overwhelming. They don’t have volume control, your playback system rules here.

The 3 range frequencies are well defined, with crossovers sharp and clear. The lows have a little dip around 180-300Hz but once you get used you will hear them all.

Find well produced records and they will surprise you. Play bad produced records and they will surprise you. I’d say they dont like distorted guitars, metal and some old records were highs were overpowered. Overall they sound sweet between 75-85 Db
If you’ve never heard them I’d suggest to try them before buying.

Be nice with your mixes, they don’t forgive 😊

Apoligies for the long post and my english grammar.
