Dunlop Band of Gypsys Fuzz Face Mini

Questo è il mio terzo Fuzz Face e nettamente il più aggressivo e violento. Piuttosto differente sia dal Fuzz Face al germanio che di quello al silicio. Come tutti i Fuzz Face è un pedalino essenziale e con due soli parametri: il volume e il gain del fuzz. Ma la qualità del suono è davvero straordinaria.
Leggenda vuole che Jimi Hendrix durante il Live at Woodstock, il Live at Berkeley e il Live at the Fillmore East, abbia usato un Fuzz Face diverso dal solito. Dalle fotografie si vede un fuzz dalle manopole bianche piazzate sullo chassis rosso, e il suono sembra essere più aggressivo, sporco, incisivo rispetto a quello di ogni altro fuzz usato da Jimi fino a quel momento. I progettisti Dunlop spiegano di aver prodotto questo Band of Gypsys su imitazione di quel pedale, partendo da una variante del classico circuito fuzz Octavio, ma priva di segnale all'ottava superiore. Il risultato è questo Fuzz Face davvero furioso e violento. Bellissimo fuzz!!! Consigliatissimo.

This is just wonderful. Instantly gives you late Hendrix tone (think Woodstock, Atlanta and Fillmore East gigs) - but is great for his earlier stuff too. In case you don't like or can't deal with all the problems that "real fuzz face" has, this is a perfect pedal.

Works brilliantly into clean-ish and dirty amp as well. Wah wah in front of it sounds wonderful too.

Compared to traditional fuzz face which is a different circuit, this does not clean up in such a nice way - at least to me it goes from "slight but noticeable fuzz" to completely clean in an instant, without that crunchy transition like many real fuzz faces have. I don't miss it in this pedal but maybe you can find combination of settings that does this too.

Only thing I would change is the bright blue LED - it gets annoying and I will either replace it for red one or cut it out.

Overall, I like this very much and it is going to stay on my pedalboard.

Wow! What can I say about this pedal. I have owned several fuzz pedals including the Big Muff and this is by far the best sounding one. If you want that typical Hendrix Band of Gypsys fuzz sound this is the one for you.

The pedal itself is built like a tank but is very small and fits nicely onto a pedal board. The sound cleans up very nicely as well! It does not have the same sustain some fuzz pedals have like the Big Muff but that wasn't what I was going for.

All in all, I couldn't recommend this pedal more!
