I was not initially a fan of DW mouthpieces because they tend to have a bit more of an edge on the rim than Bach mpc's, that reduced my endurance. However, I stuck with it and can honestly say this mpc is really comfortable now . The tone is rich and mellow , plenty of volume, and not a "squished" tone when played softly. Highly recommended, but stick with it!

I am using this mouthpiece on my Soprano Cornet and it is proving to be a great mouthpiece. I think this is sold as a B flat put as it has a small throat it is great for Soprano cornet.

schöner Klang fürs Orchester

Für mein Einsatzgebiet des Kornetts im Orchester habe ich dieses Mundstück gekauft. Der Klang ist - im Vergleich zum Brass-Band-Klangideal - deutlich heller und durchdringender: Dadurch passt er gut im Orchester und für französische, russische und amerikanische Kornett-Lieteratur.
Der Rand liegt nahe bei einem Bach 5C, vielleicht ist er ein bisschen runder. Vom Durchmesser ist er von diesem eigentlich nicht zu unterscheiden und kaum unterscheidbar von einem Denis Wick 4 bz. 4B, die aber eine weniger spürbare Innenkante haben. Der Kessel ist V-förmig und recht tief, hat aber gefühlt weniger Volumen als das DW 4B (und erst recht weniger als DW 4).
Die Ansprache ist schön direkt (für ein Kornettmundstück) und die Höhe ist sehr gut. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass es ein effizientes Mundstück ist und ich kann mich auf die Musik konzentrieren. Bei der Intonation muss ich nicht wirklich arbeiten, da ist - bei meinen Kornetts - alles am richtigen Ort.
