Long scale strings to short scale upright bass

I converted Thomann Beatbass to upright bass (violin). I have been searching well bowable strings for it 1,5 years.

I was asking short double bass strings from Thomann, and they told me this set NS710. I asked addwise from D'addario. They told, that this set is too long for my bass. They tryed to make me satisfied with ECB84, but I wanted something more sensitive. I belived, that I can find a way to install NS710 with small pended metall tubes on E and G strings. And I made it.

Now bowing is pleasant.

Fantastic strings for Ibanez UB804

Very hard to find a standard bass guitar string that will take a bow but these strings are brilliant either for pizz or arco. OK, they are way more expensive that bass guitar strings but they are price comparible with cello or double bass strings and certainly feel similar. Definitely the way to go if you want to bow your Ibanez UB.

Cordes parfaites pour cette instrument

Ces cordes sont très chères pour qui est habitué aux cordes de basse électrique. Elle sont cependant davantage à l'image des cordes pour instruments classiques tels que violoncelles ou contrebasses. Elle sont d'une très grande flexibilité. Je possède une NS Design Omni NXT4, et j'avoue que, après avoir essayé des cordes filets plats de basse électrique standard ou nylon, les cordes NS contribuent grandement au son très convaincant de cet instrument. Elle en sont à mon avis le complément indispensable, même si elles sont, je le répète, très chères.....
