I have two of the previous series (Imperium v1),
so that tells you something about how much I like this pedal.
Each used with another amp and setup, different settings, but both getting me the best lead tones when pushing my amps. Gladio for clean boost, antique for distorted lead boost
So when I saw that a new version was available, I became curious.
How could this great beast be improved?
Would the omitted features not be missed?
Are there enough improvements to warrant the purchase?
In short: yes! It is better!
Easier to dial in any tone I want, didn't miss the omitted features, haven't used the separate outputs yet, but so far felt no need to.
On the v1, the switches would sometimes glitch a bit, so i could not blindly trust on the outcome of a stomp/ long stomp on the switches...
not so on this version! Better switching and a bit less noise (popping)
With the v1, I have each side dialed in a specific way and the order of the pedals is quite important to the tone. With this v2, I can switch the order any way I want, with both sounding great, unlike with the v1.
