C.A. Seydel Söhne Saxony Orchestra Chromatic C

Sono un polistrumentista, contrabbassista, bassista elettrico, pianista, armonicista e cantante, è il mio lavoro e lo faccio da professionista. Suono l'armonica diatonica da più di 25 anni, ho deciso di acquistare la C.A. Seydel Sohne Saxony Orchestra Chromatic C, il mio maestro all'inizio mi "impostò" sullo studio della cromatica per poi passare alla diatonica, in passato possedevo due armoniche cromatiche della Hohner, le ho suonato talmente tanto che una si è rotta e l'altra praticamente non emette suono! Parliamo della Seydel saxony Chromatic C: è un'armonica superiore e molto professionale! L'accordatura orchestrale è semplicemente eccezionale! Suona come un'armonica a 14 fori che inizia con il Sol sotto il Do con caratteristiche uniche, il suono trae vantaggio dalle ance in acciaio inossidabile ben note per il blues, ha una gamma dinamica impressionante con un suono dolce, rotondo, pieno e deciso, le ance si piegano perfettamente ed i bending escono decisi anche senza usare il bocchino, usandolo ha una giocabilità impressionante, in prima ed in terza posizione si suona il classico Chicago blues! Se cercate una cromatica a 12 fori non esitate ad acquistarla! Mi è stata consegnata con un imballaggio cartonato molto ben protetto, dato che è uno strumento molto costoso ho scritto una mail ai tecnici Thomann chiedendo che la custodia fosse consone alle foto sul sito con le cerniere in metallo sul retro e la chiusura in metallo davanti, mi hanno assicurato che la custodia era come da foto. Purtroppo non è stato così, la custodia mi è stata consegnata senza cerniere e con l'interno in gommapiuma nero molto ridotto, totalmente diversa dalle foto sul sito e quindi meno robusta, comunicandomi che adesso la Seydel produce le custodie Senza cerniere per questioni di sicurezza!?! Non è la prima volta che mi capita! l'altro anno ho ordinato sette Seydel 1847 Lightning e due Noble, quattro Lightning e una Noble sono arrivate con le custodie senza cerniere, e le altre tre Lightning e una Noble con le cerniere, quindi molto più robuste "desidererei sapere per quale motivo" per questo accaduto sono costretto a dare 3 stelle! I have been using Hohner Chromatic Harmonicas for 60 years, and their lifespan leave a lot to be desired. I found myself requiring to buy a new one frequently, rather than having them repaired. Sticking reeds was always a problem, and in the end, the harmonica can be an expensive instrument over the years.

I decided to try a Seydel Chromatic, thinking it surely must last as long as the Hohner. I chose a 12 hole in C. The quality was excellent. I was surprised by how solidly it felt to handle, and the sound was superb.

Because of this I decided to buy a Seydel Sohne Saxony Orchestra 12 hole, and for the price, it is one of the best Harmonicas that I have ever played. Of all the Harmonicas that I have at the moment, this is the one I play the most.

I can only hope that it outlives the rest of my collection as it has proven to be the best of the whole lot. How long it will last remains to be seen, but so far it has been faultless, and I see no reason for that to change. Would I buy another one? Certainly. For what it costs, I cannot see anything to beat it.

I've had two chromatic harmonicas in the past both hohner, a chromonica 260 which I found hard to play and a chrometta 10 which I love the sound of but the holes on the mouthpiece are quite large. The Seydel Saxony Orchestra is an amazing instrument, it plays beautifully straight out of the box and the sound is beautiful too, the mouthpiece is well designed and easy to play. I don't think you will find a nicer Instrument at any price. Buy it you won't be disappointed
