Audient iD4 MKII

Con Audacity (sia in modalità MME sia in WindowsDirectSound sia in WindowsWASAPI) il suono del Rode NT1+iD4 è un po’ chiaro e con transienti dettagliati. Inoltre il campionamento selezionato manualmente contemporaneamente sia sull’iD4 sia su Audacity - a 48 o 84,2 o 96 kHz - ritorna automaticamente a 44,1 appena si avvia la registrazione (stavo per sostituire l’iD4). Forse i due problemi si risolvono installando il driver ASIO, “How to add ASIO4All to Audacity”, ma è macchinoso per me.
Infatti con una DAW dotata di ASIO, come i vari Cubase (tra l’altro Cubasis LE3 fa parte dei software associati con l’iD4), Reaper (con “Audio system” su ASIO), ecc., il suono dell’iD4 MK II è diventato quello dei video su YouTube: corposo, alti poco fastidiosi e transienti morbidi ma intellegibili. Il campionamento rimane quello impostato sull’iD4 (tanto che lo imposto sull’iD4 e la DAW poi lo copia).
Acquistato l’iD4 per sostituire lo ZoomH5, perché non mi fidavo del suono che dava al Rode NT1: un po’ V shape, molto chiaro, con transienti veloci. Con l’iD4 il mio parlato maschile è molto meno fastidioso e c’è anche una maggior ricchezza di sonorità. Personale classifica finale: 1) iD4 II su DAW con ASIO; 2) iD4 II su Audacity; 3) ZoomH5 (è OK per tutto tranne per la mia voce fastidiosa).

I needed an audio intrface that had one channel and was good. This one is what I needed. The sound is clear. I've been using it for a while and I can confirm that the metal housing makes it solid, it's not a pedal so don't stomp on it please. Most of the times when you start looking for a good audio interface you see that there are the first prices, you know, the first Ai you find, and they're somewhat good, then as the price goes up you notice right away that instead of going up in quality or processor they just add more Inputs, which isn't bad but you know, not ideal if your budget stays in less than couple hundreds bucks or something. Then you see this one, one Mic, Two Line In for guitar, Stereo or Mono output, good quality, metal housing, and you think: wow this seems what I need, and you're damn right. If it's in your budget buy this one, no hassle, I can't stress this enough. It's good and does its job. Peace out \m/
