Great dark mouthpiece

This is one the best hard rubber mouthpieces I have tried. It has a dark, rich, vintage tone. The only thing that is not as great is the volume, as it projects a little less than other pieces I own. But if volume is not your main goal, but rather tone quality towards the darker side of the sound spectrum, you can't go wrong with it. It is very, very good.

Beautiful red marbled German hard rubber. Extremely well made. No flaws at all. Flat table, even and thin side rails, low baffle ending in a clamshell profile.
It has a rather low beak profile, which I find comfortable as it is almost identical to my Otto Link Super Tone Master beak profile.
It leans to the darker spectrum of tone, but you are not trapped to one tone spectrum only. Once you have acquainted yourself with the mouthpiece, you will be able to go from bright to dark, from ff to pp and from a spread sound to a more focused sound.
Different reeds change the sound too (not a big surprise though). Reeds tested are Boston Sax Shop, D’Addario Select Jazz, Vandoren Green Java and Légère Signature. All seem to be a perfect match.
This is now my favourite tenor mouthpiece.
